Okay...

So, who's gonna put this thing on when you get it? Be honest....

I'll try if it looks like it would fit and wouldn't damage it or something.

I haven't been keeping up with the entire thread. Do we know how you would wear it? Does it come apart at all, or just fit over your head?

What on earth does decrying supposed socialism in the US government have to do with this prop replica? It doesn't contribute to the discussion, it derails it.

As strange as it may seem, i think the topic came up quite organically, stemming from the idea of flipping the Legends to partially off-set the costs. I dont see the harm... As long as we bring it back to topic quickly which ill now attept to do.

Gino has a magnificent display of his ANH Vader atop his mannaquin and if i had the space i might consider somthing along those lines. But that just isn't happening. Right now i think im debating the acrylic case vs au natural. I like the " museum piece" discription. That is certainly fitting. Again these are the good problems to have!

in my opinion, putting a condom over this "beaten and weathered treasure" is not even remotely a consideration.

The Limited version is capped at 1,000 units. The final edition will depend on how many orders are received so it may be less than 1,000 but never to exceed 1,000.

That is how eFX operates with most of their products (X-wing was 838 edition size for example)

I'm not so sure this is the case, I know is said 1000 in the email, but on the website it only says:

EDITION SIZE DETERMINED BY THE PRE-ORDER

No mention of 1000 max.

Their other items all have a number available worldwide.

Maybe after a 4 minute sellout they don't want to limit themselves, I don't know, I'm just saying, this was my first purchase from eFx.

With their other preorders Efx will limit it to the number of preorders after a set preordering time and it will be a max of 1000 but if less are preordered during this window it will be less but not more.

Almost pulled the trigger on one of these. A Vader helmet has been my dream collectible since I was a kid. Both versions look great. But, at the end of the day, I've gotta hold out for either ESB or ROTJ. I've always liked the solid black helmets with black lenses over ANH's two tones and red lenses.

If the ANH helmet is your Vader of choice though, I can't imagine a better or more definitive piece to add to your collection. EFX is certainly injecting a lot of excitement into Star Wars collecting.

Does e/FX have a flex pay type of option? I have never ordered from them before.

They take a deposit at the time you order. When the item is in stock, you have the option of paying the balance in full or starting a payment plan. I can't remember if it's two or three payments at that point.

I know it sounds too good to be true but yes, they are watching the collectible factor of these items. Just recently the Luke ROTJ reveal lightsaber sold out and the edition was capped at 1,000. Not only that, now they are throwing a small Jerry V. print to all that ordered.

EDITION SIZE DETERMINED BY PREORDER. That's what I saw too. No mention of a 1000 cap that I saw on their website. But then I can't see their pix either, my computer doesn't like their java script. Anyone else hv problems with that website? I'll just have to trust those of you who insist 1000 is their max, and see if they reach that number tomorrow. QuiGonFishing was right when he said the degeneration occured organically - i asked how many people were planning to order a Ltd Edn, and I guess I made mistake of mentioning i sometimes buy a couple items and sell one later, to offset cost of the one I'm keeping. Little did I know that was sacriledge on this forum; the brown shirts came out of their closets. That's how I saw it. For some, like JKNO, he then qualified that he tht it was ok for people to sell their collectibles later if they needed to, because of problems. On another post Firefly said he needed to get off his ar$e and sell some of his collectibles so he had money for 12" figures fm Sideshow & Hot Toys. I guess this is what JKNO means when he says he's okay with some who have to sell b/c they hv a problem. Well JKNO, their problem is addiction. And crack, she's a harsh mistress. She demands cash. Probably most of us here hv some form of this collector-itis. What i object to is anyone, any person, any govt, or any poster on this forum who thinks they know what is best, who deigns to tell me when it's ok for me to buy or sell something, or when I can have something, or when I can't. I should be able to buy the coolest auto, nicest house or best healthcare that I can afford. I have no right to any of them, but I appreciate the freedom to make my own choices and purchase whichever I can afford. If JKNO grew up behind the Iron Wall, then I can appreciate where his thinking comes from. But he's coming around; he said when one has this "problem" that it was okay to sell one's collectibles at the current asking price, not the pre-order price. How very nice of him to say so. Firefly's fm Vegas, Capitalism Central in my book. Even if he was secretly a bleeding heart liberal, I doubt he'd sell off his collectibles at pre-order price. If he's smart, he'll sell them for whatever he can get. If he does as well as I did with my Iron Man, he'll hv enough for a Ltd Edn Vader. I suspect JKNO and everyone here has sold a collectible or two for the same reason - to feed their addiction! If it's more polite to say, "Out with the old, in with the new," then put it that way. In any case I've no problem with it; just with people deign to know what's best for everyone. BTW, no one answered Avenger's question about shipping cost for the McVader. Suspect it will be same this time around too. I apologize to Firefly if my using "God" in an exclamation offended; we infidel Christians don't even notice when we use that word, it's like breathing. 11am, I await thee, what is thy bidding, my master.

@Glcanon, i agree with you, I do, but you're making it hard to defend the idea that the thread is not being derailed with all of this. I believe your point would be made by simply stating that you value your freedom to invest as you like, and I would avoid direct criticism of fellow board members by name.

I believe we are of like minds on the subject, but when you get into healthcare debate, etc. I think we move into the arena where we need to take it to PMs or to the off-topic threads. I have first hand knowlege of how these topics generate great passion, but perhaps we should return to Vader particularly..?
