Re: Earthquake watch California/Mexico

I am a huge fan of many many smaller earthquakes....get all that pressure released. Now a big ass one, not so much!

This is what I understood too.
Lots of smaller earthquakes decreases the chance of having a single, larger magnitude quake.

I'm not going anywhere. Quake on! :rock

Re: Earthquake watch California/Mexico

Yeah, man. Seams California is having a quake every 10mins now. Just spoken to some boffins from another faculty and they said 70% chance of a big one today or tomorrow.

We are supposed to have the big one all the time. Yet there has been how many big ones all over the world that no one was expecting.

Re: Earthquake watch California/Mexico

Yeah true. Earthquake pressure moves in waves, when it’s released it moves to the next weakest point and then builds up again. If you mark all the large ones over the last 3 years, it’s possible to follow a ruff trend.

The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.

If a big disaster hits, my guess is that LA will turn into this

Re: Earthquake watch California/Mexico

That video is so bad. Shampoo bottles fell :panic:, a poorly build car port fell :panic:, mobile home moved :panic:. People this is California, anything less then a big 6 earthquake is nothing. Sure anything not held down right will fall, poorly built (not to code) will fall. Hell look how little happened after the bigger one not far from there before.
