dying figures/parts with paint?

I could have sworn that someone posted about dying a body using acrylic paint and something else. I've searched to no avail. I even pm'd who I thought was the original poster, but I guess it wasn't because they never got back to me.
Does anybody else recall seeing this posted? Not sure that it was in this section, may have been included in the poster's custom thread.

I dye my Bruce body for my pets, I dye in dark brwon then retouched it with paint. Paint isn't a very good idea cause the paint will probably rubbed where the body articulates.

I would recommend matching the head to the body.

RIT dye works too, but i'm using dylon dye
