Hi 1/6 scale collectors! I just listed 1/6 scale CUSTOM WWII Wooden Ammo Boxes on Ebay. I made these boxes from scratch as a contribution to my Collector friends since I am tired of looking for accurate wooden ammo boxes and nobody sells a good piece that collectors are asking for. So I decided to make replicas of my Terminator diorama and made 10 wood ammo boxes.

I'm trying to make my own too. Using balsa wood as I don't have alot of tools or space to get really into it. I was wondering about your ammo boxes. I'm trying to source some but not finding them is there a website I can go to?
Your diorama inspired me to make a detolf display armory for my DX10, it won't be movie accurate but it will be busy. I'm no stranger to casting and moulds but the crates and ammo boxes may be too tough.
Here's a couple of tests I did on the balsa crates. Not nearly as tidy or accurate as yours

In fact the more I look at my tests the more I hate them. Will have to try and make them tidier and try basswood I think. Found some ammo boxes. I might just make a mould and cast a few extra ones r=that don/topen just so they can sit in the background.

Don't kick yourself so much. They may not work for what you intended them for, but they would work for some western, horror, a dig, etc. diorama. I wouldn't throw those out.

Thanks I'll keep them for now and try and neaten it up a bit. Seen some great pics and it's inspired me to get better

Retried with basswood and a lot more patience. Have come out quite nicely considering all I had was a diy stanley knife and some fine sand paper (next time I'll try machining though, much easier and more accurate.
