Here are some mock-up pics I recieved already in trying to gauge the correct 1:6 size. Google has been my enemy with finding good pics with K-9's size scale for height where he's next to someone. If anyone out these has some, please post! (Tragical History tour hasn't been working for me!)

check your PMs, I've found my 1:1 plans and just need your email address..
They're supposed to be 100% accurate according to the K-9 builders club.
edit:
I shot the files over.. here are a couple of screen-caps from The Invisible Enemy (K-9's first appearance)

I'd be in for a K-9 too :)

But what we really need is for someone somewhere to give us a 1/6 Dalek - none... ever... bizarre! :monkey2

Down in the Who sub-forum we have a nice discussion starting up about aggressively going after other 1:6 Who things now like companions, Daleks, and figuring out ways to get them. We've been stagnant too long with only being offered one or two heads a year if we are lucky. Everyone please come by and offer their two cents! I don't think us aiming for a Dalek soon is that unrealistic.

Thanks d_jedi1 for the screencaps and the K-9 plans!:clap:clap:clap

Alright, I'm told the K-9 sculpting will hopefully begin NEXT WEEK. :banana:banana

It seems at this point there will be a plain "Basic: K-9" then one with a light for a little more. Sweet!

No problem.. in response to your other request...

I can't remember any other episodes that show the interior but there MAY have been. Just too many to watch them all tonight :D
If you're at all interested in the School reunion interior (personally I kind of like it better :monkey5 ) I have a few of that as well.

Oh! also, the square on K-9's side (the Mark I anyway) was a computer screen that at the very least could display life signs.

As far as I can tell, the subsequent versions lacked the screen but still had the square area (though I'm not certain what for)

Ha! great work, AGAIN! Thanks for those!

Yeah, on the DVD of INVISIBLE ENEMY I was pretty thrilled with the CGI they added to his side screen. I had thought of maybe using a small digital picture frame if possible to put in his side that images could be loaded on to to display if there was one available small enough to work, but again, I kind of held myself back because I didn't want this getting super expensive. That would be way cool though! :)

I haven't seen the dvds yet.. I cheated a few months back and ran a month long downloading marathon to get every available episode from Hartnell on. lol There were more than a few episodes I'd forgotten.
I really need to get down to it though and start buying them.. I saw at work that some of the missing episodes have been animated to match the existing audio.
I'd like to see that as I only have the "restoration" versions with still images and the odd video segment.
I'd love to see the new FX on screen, only seen them on the cases so far.
Anyway, I don't wanna derail the thread, back to K-9 :D

So yeah if you need anything else, let me know and if someone has any ideas about what episodes things might be in, I'll be glad to go get some screen caps.

it would get my vote lol
course some purists WILL disagree but since the OS version is MUCH simpler, maybe there could be an option, heck maybe three.
1: Basic.. no interior
2: Classic.. simple interior
3: NuWho.. a bit more complex, lots of wires.

K-9 is definitely a 'Squeee! Do want!' for me. :D
I'll wait until prices and versions are announced before choosing which one, but he's a must.

I just was looking at my Denys Fisher K-9 toy and his side monitor and had a nice realization about it for our 1:6 one. Since the monitor is ringed by a frame that sticks out raised, I can make different photoshop monitor images that I can post for people who want to have their monitor being active and doing something like in INVISIBLE ENEMY that they can print out and place in there.

To go one step farther, you can then go to Hobby Lobby and get a thin sheet of clear plastic (near the craft glass aisle) and cut it accordingly (with an exacto) to cover the screen image afterwards to look like glass. That would actually be very simple. :)

Cost: We have no idea yet cause we don't know what goodies he's going to be able to do yet (like an opening side-panel?). We'll have a clearer idea as it nears completion. Estimated ballpark though, the basic K-9 will be between $65-$80 if it's a resin paper-weight (laugh)? With just the light-up eye, I'd hope it was less than a hundred, but that depends on how much the parts cost and how many orders there are for it since it is a one-man operation. Again, we'll know more as we get farther, like can the body be cast hollow? Thats why we're looking for peoples interest but not making a list yet. You'll know when we do! :)

I really appreciate everyone hopping on and expressing interest. We look to have 16 people potentially intersted so far which is a great, strong showing for out sculptor.

Please keep your comments and interest coming!

One feature I'd like to see incorporated if possible is a retractable nose cannon.

Just to keep everyone in the loop and updated on this one, the sculptor for K-9, Nek74 (Nekromantik), has just finished up his LOST "Sawyer" commission touch-ups, and is now onto work on the Winchester Brothers from Supernatural before then doing K-9!
Here's pics of his work for those who don't know him:
