Have you guys ever seen ALIVE IN JOBURG? It's an indie short film that Neill Blomkamp made that's basically the impetus for DISTRICT 9.

If you want a better idea of the theme of the movie (and what some of the action scenes might look like) check out the short film of the same subject matter that Blomkamp made that got him the attention of Peter Jackson in the first place (and tabbed him as the director of the HALO movie, if/when it ever happens):

Yeah the Halo Landfall short was rad!

Anyway, I liked the District 9 trailer until they revealed the alien (albeit with a censor on its face) at the end. Not only did I not like the design of the creature, but I thought the whole set up was bad. It's a bit too revealing also. They could have just done the reveal of the space ship and then cut to black with the voiceover of the interview/interrogation with the alien.

Man, I always loved that Halo promo film! Hadn't seen it for a while, so thanks for posting it
I wouldn't mind if a whole Halo movie was made like that. I loved the realistic feel of that promo.

My guess would be that it's supposed to be footage of a documentary or something and that they didn't want to reveal the aliens face, just like they sometimes do with humans in documentaries.

Or perhaps the alien wanted it's privacy
