Poptoys relases two versions of the Witch Doctor in a bit different outfit than the original

concept art from the game

I would say ”loosely based”, not exactly the same thing as Diablo III.

Yeah i realized that later. You are correct.

The thing is: i never played D3 - but you can collect different armor and equipment, so maybe a very similar bone armor is possible? Idk

Yeah, to me it seems like more of a hodge-podge of ideas gleaned from perusing Deviant Art and video game art books, rather than any one specific source. If someone spent a good deal of time scanning through tons of fantasy art, I imagine something similar would pop up.
