The graphics are good, but the gameplay looks like it would get boring pretty fast.

The first trailer had me excited, but the more game-play I see, the less I care.

It's a must-buy for me. Pre-ordered the Gamestop exclusive version, and will complete all of the Playstation Home challenges to unlock the Exploding Zombie Bait weapon tonight. Very cool promotion.

Ohhh NOOOOOOO. The special edition has sold out:(. Next time I shouldn't wait so long. Oh well, still hyped for this release

Awww...I was hoping this wouldn't be a FPS. I saw the poster for it in the Gamestop window when I was at the mall last week and thought the idea was really cool. Unfortunately I get motion sickness from FPS games. :(

At the very least I think I'll wait for reviews before I decide whether or not I'll pay full price for this.

Same. The developers record isn't all that crash hot, so I'm not jumping on board until after I have a bit more than just a few slick trailers to judge by...

I hope it's cool, but mere hope doesn't get me parted from my cash these days.

IGN's review will be up tomorrow morning but they talk about the game in their latest podcast. This might ease your mind: "Two games we thought might suck are actually really cool: Dead Island and Driver SF."

That is good news. With IGN if reviews go up a few days before the game is out, it tends to mean it's a good review. If the game gets a bad review, IGN sometimes has the courtesy to wait until release day to post the review.

lol, uh, no. Never.

:rotfl

If they wait, it's because the publishers of the game have placed an embargo on any reviews until a certain date has passed--usually for fear of negative review before the game has been released.

Sometimes, when you see an early review by some weird-ass site(like gameporn.com), it's because they are reviewing either a) a demo or b) an extremely unfinished version of the game, probably a beta

So: I've spent a good 5-6 hours in the story mode now, and my feelings are mixed about how I like it so far. It's been a lot like Fallout 3 - it starts off REALLY slow. There are tons and tons of quests to do though, so I really hope that it picks up once the powers/guns get better (I've had exactly one gun with one bullet so far).

Up until where I am now - it's like the openness of Far Cry 2/Fallout 3 with the gameplay of Condemned.

^^^Good point. I'm waiting for this one to come out and drop in price before considering owning it. Might rent it if I can find it at Blockbuster, but I'm trying to hold out for the upcoming barrage of games.
