Got both Dallas and Kane recently neither of the lights worked right out of the box. I was able to get the Kane to work after looking on here but the Dallas had other problems. One of the Batteries was corrode and needed replacing. I went to Home Depot and Walgreen's no luck. I had to go to Radio Shack and the guys there cross-reference the # on the battery and found 394 is the replacement. Came home and Dallas lights up no problems now.

I looked around but couldn't find a reference to this so here is a Tip if you need to replace the Batteries 394 is the # you need.

Yet another reminder that I really want to get in there and remove all the batteries. I never use the light up features and don't want the corrosion to affect the lifespan of my Dallas and Kane figures.

:D

I'm with you on that one.. I read taking the backpacks off and back on can be quite the b^^^^.

Yeah mine were a nuisance to get working. Had to wedge broken strips from coke cans between the batteries to get them connecting and when I'd get the helmet lights to work the backpack lights would then stop working because the added strips dislodged during my handling of the figure. And then vica verca when I would take the backpack off, fix it and then finally get it back on. That was months ago now but I've just recently discovered them malfunctioning again. Only the red light lights up on Kanes backpack now. And two of the lights in Dallas' helmet never worked at all.

just a quick note. i had to put my batteries in kane's helmet in the opposite polarity than what the the instructions showed to get them to work. you may want to try that.

also, on my backpacks, all 4 lights worked on dallas but only the red one on kane. funny, huh? i did not want to hassle with reinstalling the backpack, so i left those lights alone.

here are some pics of what the figures look like when the lights work. ;)

That's exactly how I intended to display my Dallas and Kane.

Regarding the batteries, I only intend to keep them in long enough for a photo session and then I'll probably pull mine as well. Had the same problems with my batteries initially, but got it sorted out once I removed the backpack (which is a PITA) and messed around with them a bit. I did notice that one battery had minor corrosion, but they still worked when activated. I do like the light up feature, but on some figures either the batteries or the switch are just a (female dog expletive) to get to.

The reason some people are not getting all the light to work at once is bad Battiers itehr connection or dead. On the Kane i noticed that with 2 batteries you get the over head light not inside add the 3rd and all three work. Same with the back pack. Kane only has one red even thou when i installed them and tested before putting it back on him all the lights were working. Darn fickle things.

Dallas and Kane are fantastic figures (minus Kane head). Light effect is perfect on them.

agreed. the film itself focuses more on isolation than anything else, and the large helmets and suits give that impression as much as possible through an action figure. as much as aliens was about the team, alien was about the individual.

Thnx for the battery info. :rock :rock :rock

I got mine in last week and had the exact same problem.

Really though, the functioning lights are just a novelty. Cool when you first get them out of the box and fun to take some pics, but after a while the novelty wears off.

Even with Iron Man.

Both of mine lit up fine for a long time. I just noticed that Dallas's helmet lights are not working. Will have to check the batteries out.

Love these figures, though. They are in my top 10 favorites.

Yep, pretty much. Its a cool feature, but I never really use it. But if someone comes over I'll switch 'em on.

But if you can avoid removing the backpacks I'd recommend it. The straps are an absolute pain to rethread... I had to take a break I was getting so frustrated with the damn things :lol

Kane backpack lights up perfectly, but Dallas's is pretty dim. When I inspected closer to see how the backpack was attached, I quickly decided I didnt need the lights work:lol

I can only imagine how much of a pain it is, and I just dont have the patience.
