With Sideshow coming out with the ¼ scale Ark; this one was a no brainer. Everyone loves the Trevor sculpt (myself included), it is the hat that has been bugging me. I just think that they went “neutral”, meaning just a decent looking Indy style hat from Raiders (which is quite nice in my humble opinion). Though there are many in the film, Harrison seems to mostly be wearing the “Streets of Cairo” Hat in exterior shoots, and the “Studio” Hat on interiors. I went for the “Studio” Hat, as I like to call it.
This hat reshape took more than 13 hours of work to do:
Initial Sanding: 3 hours. To reduce the bulkiness on the sides and lower the back crown slightly.
Additional Sculpting: To raise the brim on both sides: 2 hours

<a href="https://s663.photobucket.com/albums/uu359/sparksr_2009/?action=view&current=IMG_2463.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i663.photobucket.com/albums/uu359/sparksr_2009/IMG_2463.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Sanding the newly dried sculpts: (no joke): 6 hours. Because we could only do it slowly, one mistake would ruin the ribbon or another part. Plus, we were exactly matching stills from that scene.
<a href="https://s663.photobucket.com/albums/uu359/sparksr_2009/?action=view&current=IMG_2545.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i663.photobucket.com/albums/uu359/sparksr_2009/IMG_2545.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Painting: 2 hours.
Torch: All Mike Fishers' genius, enough said. As usual, he makes it look EXACTLY like what you see on screen (when is Sideshow going hire him to make all of us an accessory back for our Indy’s?).

<a href="https://s663.photobucket.com/albums/uu359/sparksr_2009/?action=view&current=IMG_2626.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i663.photobucket.com/albums/uu359/sparksr_2009/IMG_2626.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Custom Glove Hands: And who says that the Diamond Select Indy has no use, these hands worked great with some re-sculpting.

<a href="https://s663.photobucket.com/albums/uu359/sparksr_2009/?action=view&current=IMG_2426.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i663.photobucket.com/albums/uu359/sparksr_2009/IMG_2426.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

2 Sets of Custom removable magnet arms. Now I can switch Indy from “Well of the Souls to other looks easily (as well as changing the clothes as I upgrade, etc.).

Obviously, Many Thanks to Sean Ho and Mike Fisher! You guys are the Best!!!

Also, the whip is by Joe Strain (another genius).

That looks really awesome! Are you changing the base though? I could see the same general shape, but maybe add some sand and snakes around him?

What was done to the jacket? Is it a completely new item, or did you alter the one from Sideshow?

Your right, the base is the next project. Most likely something bigger with sand and snakes.

The jacket is not the Sideshow jacket, it is custom (1 1/2 CM longer) and is made from super thin lambskin. I went through 5 prototypes to get the right look/feel, so that it hangs off of Indy properly.

Geesh ... that Indy is just awesome... I love the gloved hands.. your partner over there has just cranked out some brilliant work.. and the end result of the reshaped hat has seriously transformed a decent Indy fedora into THE Indy fedora.... love it...

Thanks for all of the comments. Here are some better looking pics:

Really amazing! Love it.

You have NO idea though, just how badly I want to reach in there and pull his sleeves down over the gloves. No idea. :rotfl

I understand, but if you look at most shots in Raiders where he is wearing the gloves, they are like that. I will try both ways though. The other good thing about the magnet arms is the you can rotate the position of the hands, more in towards his leg, out, away from the body.

And to answer the question from thenammagazine, yes, I will weather him, I wanted to get all of his costume and accessories right first. Part of that process is to post pics here and pretty much make additional changes/improvements based upon what feedback I get. His jacket improved based upon feedback I got here several months ago ...

Can't wait to see what you're planning on. Again, simply stunning.

OK, I took some advice and had him shot in daylight, hope that these new images will do justice to everyones work, meaning: Mike Fisher, Sean Ho, Joe Strain and the clothes maker Miss Lee.

And, I took agent5's advice and pulled the sleeve's down over the edge of the gloves ...

This one is good to see the angle of the hat re-shape:

This pic really shows how Sean Ho got the paint job right on the face:
