But they are acting on behalf of their employer here, not themselves personally. If they were simply Freaks members on their own time, that's different - but these are company reps acting in an official capacity. They are, in effect, Sideshow the company.

So Sideshow, the company that produces very sexually suggestive statues, is saying that very sexually suggestive gifs are inappropriate.

But I agree on the gifs - if it isn't funny or clever then I just roll my eyes, and the sexism aspect is very clear (and hello - where are the mods?) - but to some degree I feel the same way about Sideshow's statues.

There's certainly hypocrisy here. I find a lot of Sideshow's statues to be ridiculously over-sexualised. But even so, I'm ok with putting that aside and giving it a blind eye because we're here to get deals on collectibles and free RP. If we aren't here to do that, then why are we wasting our time?

Where it may be true that these Gifs aren't inappropriate to most of the male collectors on this forum, but from the few posts from the female collectors it would seem to indicate they feel otherwise.

Hypocrisy or not, but at least for now codes (and common courtesy) etc should take priority.

There have been some decent deals on figures but I have to say the codes are hardy worth the bother this year since most are only for $2. Maybe they'll throw out some higher value codes at the end of the week.

IDK, $37 after two and a half days seems generous to me.

If they are genuinely offended then they're letting their personal opinions interfere with their job - which is to pump the **** out of Spooktacular in every possible way to drive sales.

SSC needs to hire less sensitive employees.

They can always turn to social media to sell stuff. They're not holding back from using Twitter or Facebook to hock their wares. They don't need to be on here. But if we want them to be here giving us stuff, and they don't like coming into a place that smells like a cumstained frat house, then that's their choice. Make it more welcoming for them...

I have 140 worth of RP from from this and last years Spooktacular. If it ends now I am happy. If there are more codes, great, but if not I am still a very happy man to walk away with 140 bucks to spend at SS. Why are people so hard to please? Literally free money...

I was really trying to avoid entering this debate because I understand both sides, but I have to point out that this comment is more inappropriate than any of the pictures posted.

There's a difference between accurately representing a character and sharing your spank bank.

If you as a company (and as a sum of your employees' beliefs) have a problem with "posed" women being depicted in a thong and with barely-covered breasts, then choose NOT to depict characters like that, right? Pretty simple. Dozens of companies produce statues that have no "R-rated" content.

Companies absolutely have a choice in the characters they produce - there are hundreds to choose from, or even create on your own (as Sideshow often does) - yet SSC "just so happens" to produce dozens of female characters bent over or laid out in sci-fi/fantasy/horror bikinis? It's the poses as much as the outfits.

They think those types of exploitative female characters are cool, or they just do them because they sell. Either way, it's a choice they've made.

But let's be absolutely clear and honest here: Sideshow chooses those characters to ACCURATELY lol) depict - over and over.

OFFENSE INTENDED, this should be this simple. Look at your porn in a different window, site, whatever. Its not difficult to NOT post it here. It was made clear that the people giving out free stuff didn't like it. We are here for free stuff.
