In case anyone was looking for a 1/6 Pulse rifle.

Not sure if it is accurate but it may help someone.

And there's two ways to paint it to make it screen accurate-

The originals were painted "Bess Brown" a Humbrol color- however onscreen they looked olive drab- After much debate, it was decided both colors were accurate-

The HGC Pulse Rifle offerings a few months back gave buyers the option of which color...:D

Hi Mudshark, thanks for posting the Hicks head comparison pics. Is the HT Hudson the same sculpt as the Stoner? I have a stripped Hudson head and it looks pretty much the same to me, but it's difficult to tell with the camo paint.
I was going to repaint the Hudson head for my Hicks, but then I was lucky enough to get a FML "spikey". :D

Sorry for the late reply, I was out of town for a couple of days. To answer you question, the Stoner and "Hudson" sculpts aren't the same. They both resemble Hicks when repainted, but I believe they are two different head sculpts.

I'd say FML's spiky hair Hicks is a must have for any version of Hicks without his helmet, while either the Stoner or Hudson sculpt are best if he's to be wearing a helmet.

Finally gathered allll my loose USCM stuff and put it one large box - now I can SEE what I have instead of trying to remember it all- :google

I've got 3 "knock-off" sets- 1 HT set - 1 loose smartgunner set - with Drake's vest too.

I've two of the quilted holsters, will have to be creative for the rest of the sidearms- I've a custom od dropdown, that might work good for the smartgunner. The rest, I'm not sure about.

And, one boxed set of Chris's. Which I'm not sure if I'll make or just keep as a memoriam.

MAA's camos will make 'em perfect.

I think I'll stick with a 5 man squad- should be good- must know when to say "Enough!" LOL

Odd thing about the knock-offs, they attach the top armor plate that goes on the ab pad to the lower part of the chest armor-

What the hell??

So, I'll be cutting that off, rebuilding the abpad and attaching them.:banghead

They also have less detail than the HT's on the shoulder lamp- has a silver circle for the lense. (Gee, wonder where they got that idea?! From Chris' set)

I'll try and take a pic of the one I have all geared up- to give you some idea of the camo colors it came with, the undersuit of the old DML GS-G9 is PERFECT for it, colorwise...

It's hard waiting for MAA's bdu's, but it will be worth it- I've got some loose HT sets and the "mystery" ones sold on ebay, but they fall faaaarrrr short of MAA's correct ones.

Have two headscupts picked, a possible third and looking for the remaining two-

The body I'll be using for the smartgunner is the old 21st Misfits one- it's muscular, posable, looks pretty good too, IMHO. The new HT muscular bodies look excellent, but I just don't know how posable are they? Can they do the "smartgunner pose"??

Off to get some paint!

Has anybody ever attempted to make a custom smartgun? I'm fed up trying to source one out for vasquez, and I might have a go at it.

I think that you wont have any trouble posing a new HT body in the smartgun position.
BTW, the original HotToys Drake comes with a closed joint body.
And a cheaper option for a closed joint body is to get some arm sleeves so you can hide the joints on a normal body ,that looks so much more real.

Wow dic ,that would b one hell of a job.
Would be a hard piece 2 copy.
Do you realy think thats could be possible?

Yeah Dic that F.n E-bay can b one pain in the ars sometimes.
who knows ,maybe you will get lucky sometime soon.
I will keep my eyes open for you

If you are gonna try to make one yourself then, i would like to see how that works out.:naughty
I think that the most work would be, the frame that holds the gun to the body.
You could open a thread on that maybe somebody has a loose smartgunner set somewhere.
Anyway, good luck with that.

hey Hollis,I recognize you from over at AL haha, anyway just curious, what are these 'knock-off' sets? and where did they come from?

and man, you've got enough for 5 marines? I thought I was lucky with three haha

I just thought it through, I think I will just try and hold out for the smartgun, to much work involved for me. lol

Im not sure if I can open a for sale/ wants thread yet.

D-Chaos- Thanks for the heads-up bro, I appreciate it!! I'd love to get a set of the arm sleeves, especially for Hicks! But, I didn't know they were still available? That...would rock!

Cpl Shepard- yep, hang out at the AL! :D
These knock off sets were made, jeez, something like 4-5 years ago, before HT did theres. They were knock offs of Chris' work- Chris was able, with some help, to get them to cease and desist-
Two friends of mine were at a show a couple years back and picked up some of the remaining sets- I traded for one two years ago, another this past Fall. The third I got along with a boxed set of Chris' armor set for a custom 1/6th ODST I had built.
I was able to get 3 of the 4 sets they got.

I have mixed feelings about building the sets, knowing they were knocked off of Chris's work, but he was satisfied with the outcome. Chris enjoyed the Colonial Marines so much, he was always soooo happy to help anyone with armor, gear, weapons etc. He loved the HT stuff too. I really feel that he would enjoy seeing the sets turned into accurate Marines, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten the sets.

When the HT Marines came out, I started gathering parts- it wasn't easy, but bit by bit- I've built the squad components I have now-

Dic- if you want to build the smartgun - it was based on the MG-44. You might find something that will make the struts on the barrel sides from www.plastruct.com They make industrial model parts, like I-Beams, diamond plate sheeting etc., all in styrene plastic, in various scales. The piston at the barrel end, I'd get a thin walled styrene tube and using a file, slowly make the rings around it-

Otherwise, keep checking ebay- one will turn up- I'll also keep an eye out for you -

Yo Holliz, you can PM sovereign studio here on the forum for those sleeves .
He has got muscle sleeves but also regular types that can be used perfectly for the USCmarines.

Here's some pics of what I have collected so far.
First off, Drake complete and in the middle of being screen accurate
Hick only need a headsculpt to complete it
Vasquez, needs more work.

Sorry for the picture quality

And the other bits and pieces I have

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone could help me out or point me in the direction of either a USCM helmet or the elastic strap that came with the hudson figure. I'm sooooo close to having a completed Hicks, just need these two things. If anyone does have these things PM me as I do have some misc marine stuff like burners etc.

I assume you mean the helmet cover strap, right? Does it have to be the exact elastic strap that came with Hudson? If not, something very similar could most likely be found at a sewing supply shop, especially a big one.

Wish I could help with the helmet but haven't seen any of those for sale loose in quite a while. You might want to try posting a WTB in the commerce section, though. It gets more traffic than this thread I reckon.
