Elsa Lanchaster was indeed a redhead...I've seen one of the few color shots of her in the make-up, and the bust actually looks better. The base(which was a pale green) was not applied at all smoothly;between the focus, the lighting and the film stock, you really can't tell how streaky it was...PS
