Guys, I'm wanting to get the Batman Begins version of Batman, but aren't too sure on which one. I've heard good about both, except for the ankle problems and weird rubber deterioration of the TF version. Please help.

Assuming price is no object (I don't know which one is more expensive)...

...are you willing to do some work to fix broken ankles? It'll require some cutting, dremeling, and gluing. It's not too hard though, if you're willing to be ballsy.

If so, then it really just depends on whether you prefer the Begins suit as it looks in Batman Begins (glossier) or The Dark Knight (duller matte). The OC figure is glossier, the TF is duller.

Both come with Wayne heads, though the TF Wayne head is far superior. The TF comes with the first-night out harness (though the Takara harness is better), while the OC comes with the pneumatic mangler.

So what matters most to you?

-First night out look or pneumatic mangler?
-Having a better Wayne head?
-Glossier or duller look?

Keep in mind the "broken ankle" problems are universal to the TF - you WILL have it if you get it. But the "deteriorating rubber" problem is way overblown and if you take good care of your figure, you'll probably be fine.

OC, No contest. I've seen several of both and the OC's suit material looks so much better.

The OC has a better suit material but weak knees. Both broke on mine without evening touching it.

The TF has better accessories and faceplates but weak ankles.

Flip a coin.

At this point you're more likely to get a figure with issues than without, given the age and history of the figures. With what you'd be paying, you'd come out on top just looking into an Enterbay Batman. Or are you not interested in 1/4 scale?

I've owned both. The OC suit is far superior but the headsculpts are much better with TF. I currently own the OC suit with the TF batsculpts. Best of both worlds lol.

I own both.

Original Costume

+ better quality suit
+ better cape and clips (permanent)
+ pneumatic mangler
+ better ankles/boots

- weak *** knee joints
- mouth paint job isn't as nice as modern figures

Toy Fairs Exclusive

+ swappable mouth plates
+ better bruce Wayne head (DX 12 kills it though)
+ survival suit gear w/ extra belt and straps

- poor quality suit with dents and deformations (especially on the sides)
- painted suit that peels off without touching
- broken ankles with plastic that is brittle and deteriorates
- HORRIBLE cape and clip functions

I'd go with OC, it's a solid release and a more durable figure.

- OR -

Just wait for Hot Toys to make another one . . .

I've always thought the TF improved on the cape clips. Is there any photo reference?

Gotta go OC. The TF one is just not that great. But the OC is going to set you back some coin.

I was able to pick mine up in the FS section for $300 last week and it has an excellent custom cape. Worth every penny to me.

The OC destroys the TF version. That figure was rushed and badly flawed. Every reason DiFabio listed is so true. Figure had lots of potential but was a mess. If they really do a new OC I would guess DX.

Hopefully a DX with the ninja outfit.
