Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

what's the point of buying 2 of these anyways? Makes no sense to me why people do that, especially with a $700 item.

Hoarding. OCD. Mental illness. One to gloss up and make a Returns Batmobile. One to customize into a durable RC. One to put away for your child's college tuition (I bet some folks really do that with these things :lol). Flip later for secondary market prices. Hype. MOAR.

Who the hell knows.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

Likely because the aftermarket price will be absolutely sky high in a year.

:lecture :exactly:

If I had the space to store these, I would buy several. They are going to jump way up in price not too far down the road once they sell out everywhere.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

Divorce is my motivation not to get 2.

Judge would extract 10 Tumblers out of me per month.

Mental illness lol

I actualy have two displays, one in my office and one at home. I usually just display vehicles at work

I guess flippers have a ton of space then. As sure of a thing as that is, most people have no interest in putting in the effort of dealing with flipping one of these.

that makes a little more sense, if you have them displayed in 2 different buildings, but I never understood why some people have like 2 or 3 of the same statue or figure displayed right next to each other in the same room. It detracts from the awesomeness of the piece for sure.

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

Getting older, less space, these things cost way more, etc.. If this was back when figures were $140-$150 and vehicles $300-$400, I'd probably spend more frivolously like I used to.

And then, I keep thinking about how hard this is going to be to fit through the front door. :lol

I'm serious too. I might have to take it back through the garage and come upstairs. We have this narrow inside door in the front before the foyer, I measured it out and I don't think it's going to fit. :monkey4

I'd feel gross getting two, I really would. It'd be a huge waste, no matter how hyped up I was when the first pics were rolling in.

Boy did you ever say it...great points/ Agree with ALL.
However two 89 Batmobiles calling my name....:slap

Your wife is going to leave you for the '89 Batmobile and take your kid with her after she sees what you have done.

Now your son will have a new father that lights up and reeks of plastic and rubber.

These were the top two reasons I was trying to use to justify to myself getting two. But then I remembered, I much prefer the first appearance of car to the Returns look. Feels more like a brutal machine and less like an exotic sports car when it's not high gloss.

I also wanted to put an R/C motor in one, and create a badass Batmobile R/C...but while I know R/C cars on this scale can sell for this much (and more), I know that honestly, I would never dare run it. I couldn't live with any scratches on it, plus I have a few 1/10 scale RichMans for that.

The only other thing I'd possibly want a second one for is to tweak it to be even MORE screen accurate, there are a couple of very minor things that are off that may be possible to fix, but I wouldn't want to risk messing up a mod on my only Batmobile. But that's the OCD Batmobile fan in me talking....I'm gonna learn to live with it as it is.:peace

Re: Hot Toys Batman 1989: 1/6th scale Batmobile Collectible Vehicle - Specs & Pics

How is everyone getting charged and getting their Batmobiles shipped already? I thought it was tomorrow, the 16th for everyone to get charged. That's what mine is. I tried like hell to get it charged today but to no avail. Order Febuary of 2012 too.
