Avengers VS X-Men

I work at a comic book store in Toronto and we had to choose our side so we went with the X-Men. Seems like this should be an interesting series, but so far everything I have read has been very 'meh', especially the 2nd issue. Too much happening in a small amount of time and a little ridiculous. As everyone has already mentioned, that fight underwater... come on.

Plus they had that "young" Apocalypse enrolled at Wolvie's school.

I just read up on it on wikia. The "young" Apocalypse (Genesis) at Wolvie's school is a clone created by Fatomex. I hope that it is just a matter of time before the genes inside the clone revert back to the bad a$$ that is true Apocalypse.

Here's a "what if" scenario, what if the clone does emerge as a good version & then the original Apocalypse shows up then ensuing battle occurs. Ends with original killing the good clone, ta-dah!

fighting namor in the water was actually pretty hilarious....they would absolutely get butchered

As everyone has already mentioned, that fight underwater... come on.

Looking at posts on other comic-related forums, the overwhelming consensus is that the Namor fight underwater should have lasted 1-2 seconds tops. I honestly don't think Thing or Luke Cage would even touch him before being knocked a few miles into the atmosphere. Underwater, Namor's has knocked out the Hulk and his strength is virtually unlimited.

Result should have been: Thing launched into the atmosphere with the first punch and Luke Cage's unbreakable skin filled with broken bones right when he started talking back.

Namor in the water = Avengers never set foot on the beach.

I want to see Banner Hulk get in on the action. I've never liked Ross Hulk, and I didn't spot the original on the helicarrier. He was on the cover of a variant for the second issue fighting Emma, but something tells me he's not going to show up because he's not on an avengers team when this event takes place. Hope I'm wrong.

I understand why Cyclops and the X-Men feel the need to fight and defend themselves. But, I'm with Captain America and the Avengers.

Just finished AvX vs. #1 and Uncanny X-Men:

---There is a disclaimer that these fights are NOT PART of Marvel continuity.
---Ironman defeats Magneto by wearing nonmetal armor, shooting millions of minimagnets at him, and then they just punch each other silly until Magneto feels the Phoenix destroy a planet and gives up...Ironman complains that the fillings in his teeth hurt just being in the presence of Magneto, yet Magneto didn't use those against Ironman? I would think Magneto would rip the damn fillings out and begin closing Stark's throat. The entire fight was silly.
---(bulls__t fight) Thing defeats Namor UNDERWATER by pulling the tusks off of a giant fish fish and pinning Namor down; Thing happens to find a convenient air vent to stand on to breathe.
---Jugger-Colossus is beating the hell out of Rulk so bad that he is close to killing him when Rulk notices that they are damaging the supports of Utopia. Colossus can't control his rage so he rips his helmet off and asks Rulk to knock him out.
---Cyclops sends a message to the mayor of San Francisco and basically says, "We warned you to leave us alone, now the entire world will suffer."
---Marvel has such a hard-on for the Avengers that these books take absurd to an entirely new level.

If next week's books aren't better, I am not buying anymore.

The Magneto vs. IM fight wasn't THAT bad because Tony made it clear that he had spent millions of $$$ and planned out the entire fight even going so far to drain energy from Jupiter instead of Earth's electric fields. The Rulk vs. Juggernaut fight was pretty cool because you could see the "Avatar of Destruction" part of Colossus coming out and destroying everything. However, Namor vs. Thing was a complete fricking joke. The entire time I was reading it, I was shaking my head thinking that Thing would not even touch Namor underwater let alone trade hits with him. Also, where the hell did a 1000 foot piranha with 100 foot tusks come from that Thing conveniently pulled off and why did Namor just lay in the sand and let Thing pin him down? The entire fight was lame.

Wait, what? The Uncanny that hit today had all of that???

Yes, half of the book summarized AvX#1 and the other half of the book was the Jugger-Colossus vs. Rulk fight. Jugger-Colossus morphed into this giant, horned, demon looking thing, beat Rulk to a pulp, and nearly ripped him in two.

Uncanny was alright. AvX Vs is complete silliness. Kinda fun though.

The regular books (AvX, X-Men, Avengers, etc) are part of continuity/cannon; the AvX VS books are not.
