I knew this wouldn’t be cheap, but it’s definitely something I’ve always wanted, especially now that I have all 3 suits. I mean, those were over $1000 to get all 3 and I’ve splurged for the custom Heywood Floyd head, and still need a Bowman and Poole custom head. Definitely count me in for one of these Anthrapoid.

The metal artist has started making the prototype for the Haywood Floyd headsets. After he is finished and ships it to me, then I will show photos and ask buyers to pre-pay. I don't know the price yet, because the artist needs to make one prototype first, then he will know the hours of labor required to make one set. I will be making some parts too and performing the final assembly, after he ships his parts to me.

The prototype headset is almost finished, and I think it looks great! Just a few more details, ear padding, some polishing and some paint. After the prototype is totally finished, then the artist can tell me the final cost for each headset. After that, I will start asking for pre-order payments.
If you look closely, you will see the ends of the four curved arch wires are actually welded into the metal ovals on both sides... amazing!

The prototype headset is finished!
It is being shipped to me now. I will test-fit the prototype on my own Haywood Floyd head sculpt, so the artist can make any minor adjustments that may be required before he produces the other sets. (The only parts missing from these new photos are the white oval foam padding on the inside of the ear cups. I will add those parts myself.)

The artist will ship all of the loose parts for me to paint and assemble after he receives payment for the whole batch of headsets. (he wants to ship them to me all in one box, because the cost of shipping multiple boxes from the Philippines to the US is quite high.)

So: It's time for me to collect payments from all who want a headset for their Haywood Floyd. The cost is $180.00, plus $20.00 to pay for shipping from the artist to me, and from me to each of you. The total is $200.00.

Each headset is hand-made in metal and plastic according to my thoroughly researched specifications, and a lot of work is involved. I think the artist is charging a fair price considering the labor and quality. Also, the wait time won't be very long; perhaps 3 or 4 weeks after payment.

Hey 2001 fans - Executive Replicas has finally worked out a deal with JazzInc to make the 1/6 scale EVA POD.
Here's a copy of the announcement by Joost Assink in the JazzInc Facebook group, and a link to it; JOIN that group and say YES if you're interested in pre-ordering one... or three! It's great to see that my 5+ years of research on this project will finally end with a product release. ($1,100 is a good price- I was expecting $1,500 or more.)
