OMG YES. This hobby continues to put a huge smile on my face when I see figures like this. I want to ask for more in terms of another nation of the time period but I'm just so grateful they made this.

That's a good question.

Luckily Wikipedia knew the answer. :lol

...the apron initially served the function to protect the sapeurs from wooden munitions blasts, breaching blasts and also limiting risks of penetration on obstacles in case of fall.
