I just ordered a Dutch muscle body off ebay for one of my Indy heads, probably TOD, but I keep wondering if I should have got the smaller looking Billy muscle body instead. I was just curious to see if it would be in scale with SSC Indy's larger noggin.

heres my first attempt at customising indy, im pretty pleased how this turned out, especially the repaint considering its my first go. Its on a soldier story body so i still have to shorten the length of the arms and legs but other than that i think its done.

www.darrencarnall.com was a very useful site to refer to while i was doing this!

Mikey2Bullets, TRON1968, chalkyYT - great work guys

Mikey2Bullets - I like how your Indy looks in the third pic. He's a bit too shiny though.

TRON1968 - ToD Indy looks great. I like the blood on his face. And Sideshow jacket looks nice on Medicom Indy.

chalkyYT - congrats on the repaint, really good work.

thanks, i know i can't seem to find a proper flat clear coat that really flattens out the skin while protecting the paint. that's actually my third attempt. the first looked like a "special kid" and on the second the paint flaked off when i tried to re assemble him.

if anyone has suggestions for this i'll do him over. i'm using folk art acrylics.

from a distance of a few feet he looks great, a bit sweaty, but great :lol

awww, thanks for the mention! Glad it helped a little :bow Your figures looks great! :rock

I use a polyeurathane varnish, I think its designed for furniture maybe... or at least it has a picture of a wooden chair on the can. This harden very shiny... but the longer you leave it the harder it gets. So I do that and leave it for a few days... or if I can over a week.... (although its touch dry after a day) ...then I get some Testor's Dullcote... this doesnt quite protect as much as the other stuff (which is why I use that first) but this makes things DEAD flat... completely matt... not shiny in the slightest. This dries in a few hours. THen i use a tiny brush and some gloss varnish from a small bottle (craft store) and gloss the eyes.

Hope this helps :)

thank you sir!
will definately try this.

i found this stuff called microflat. it's for flattening waterslide decals after application. on models it works great, no shine. i did to the extra fedora, still a bit glossy.

if its any help i used tamiya acrylic paints, and a tamiya thinner, the ones marked "XF" are matt (X is gloss). The head was still a bit shiny as you can see in my photos so i bought a can of humbrol "model and craft hobby spray matt varnish" from my local hobby craft for about £4.30 A couple of lightly sprayed coats worked a treat. I prefer him to my premium format figure now!

this pic was before i used the matt varnish, theres still a shine to the paint, especially compared to the joker,
the one below is after i sprayed it. ill try to put better pics up in daylight

Sorry about the bad lighting, here are some pics of my 1/6th Indy in progress (he still needs to be weathered and the jacket has yet to be made) ... The shirt is off a bit on purpose, but the pockets do match up if it is not in "messed up" mode.

WOW! That looks great! What shirt are you using? Or is it a custom? Are the pants the Sideshow ones? The belt and holster look like the Mike Fisher ones...I have a couple of those myself! :D

Thanks for the comments:

Yes, Mike Fisher belts, they are awesome!

The shirt and pants are custom, I spent a few days finding the right material here in Hong Kong. I had the lady who does the work make the pants slightly longer a just a little bit baggy.

Sean Ho did the face and full body re-paint, the hat has been altered as well based upon the excellent information I found on indygear. 2 cm has been added to the body length, which has really made a BIG difference.

<a href="https://s663.photobucket.com/albums/uu359/sparksr_2009/?action=view&current=IMG_0988.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="https://i663.photobucket.com/albums/uu359/sparksr_2009/IMG_0988.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Here is a look at the fabric (though this picture is for the PF pants comparison):

And here are some better lit pics:

Hopefully I will have some pics over the weekend of this outfit weathered ...

I'm waiting for some Sideshow pants and a Medicom shirt. I think they will work well on OLD indy. I love the head sculpt. Very cranky!

I love your KOTCS Indy, I did one a couple of weeks back myself. The Sideshow Jacket works great! And I agree about the head sculpt ...

So I was throwing together an Indy on a TT last night and when I got to the feet/shoes from the original SS figure I was unable to figure out a way to get them on the TT. I would have sworn that someone at some point in this thread wrote that the Pro feet, when the ankle peg is removed, are compatible with the TT ankle. Am I crazy? I'm using the newer TT with the Tom Cruise sculpt. Is there perhaps a difference between this TT and a past version?

I am pretty sure someone said you had to boil the sideshow boots to pop them on the TT pegs.
