1/6 Indy Customizations: Image Thread

Here is a couple of late night quick pics of one of my painted Sideshow heads. It may sound weird but although I think this is the worst of the ones I painted I think it looks the best on the figure. I have been experimenting with different skin tones to try and get that swarthy look that he has in Raiders. I will try and take some daylight pictures tomorrow.

Understandably. And with Nathan's paint that sculpt shines like no other.

Did you ever get one? If not, you really need to.

I'm confused, why no one mention this one Inigo's head I'm statisified with. Maybe he looks bit older as should be in ROTLA, but on figure it's very good likeness

You're right Gido. That is a great sculpt. However for me, other than replicating the Raiders movie poster, I think a more serious sculpt is better for Indy.

Here comparison of MJ and Inigo's smirking sculpts in hands of Yelim.
Both have they're strong and week points, but fore me at the end won Inigo's one. On the figure it looks nicer.

But for serious look Indy I'm still waiting. Had almost all of them, but smirking versions won in likeness so far

But I can't see how anyone can give that MJ (the resized version) 2nd place or worse.

I'm still surprised that so few here mention the resized Choi sculpt with Inigo hat when talking about best sculpts. I don't think there's any comparison.

Yeah but only a "Select" few even got a hold of that sculpt...

I don't rank a sculpts quality based on whether I have it or not.

I have both the MJ and the Inigou and have to give it to the Inigou as my favorite.

Hey Sigito. I like the MJ Choi and Sideshow Raiders head. As for the hat there are quite a few options although I don't think there is a perfect Raiders hat that has been made yet.

You have the DX05 but here are some comparisons with other options out there and their respective hats (Jnix custom sculpt, Sideshow TOD, Hot Toys ROTLA, Sideshow ROTLA). I'd like to get the Inigo v3 when that comes out too but that hasn't been put up for order yet. I like the Sideshow Temple of Doom but it's a bit small and the hat is obviously a bit oversized for it as you can see.

I see, thanks for the comparison! I still feel the DX head is small compared to my other Hot Toys head or any other, needs to be a little bit bigger like 1mm more

Has anyone repainted the Sideshow Raiders head ? I feel like there is a good sculpt hiding underneath a poor paint job.

My favourite head is the Inigo V2 but I'm thinking the V3 will be the best once released.

Actually I repainted a Sideshow Indy years ago, not sure if it's Raiders though, I think it's a pretty good sculpt. Sorry for the bad pic

That MJ Choi head is great, but personally I feel it's too MJ Choi if you know what I mean, his style transferred to the sculpt so it kinda looks like his John McClane sculpt. I really like that smiling head! Just like the poster, and yes I think Inigou v3 will be great. Kinda makes me want to try to sculpt my own Indy

I think the MJ Choi head is a little too much like a caricature of Ford, with some of the features exaggerated somewhat (ears & lips in particular).

I love the Inigou V2, but in terms of the winner for best Ford likeness so far, I have to give it to the Inigou V3 Smiling sculpt. Here's mine with Mark Simpson's paint:

All have their merits, but only shine with a great paint job. I still think that Trevor's Raiders head is the best overall in terms of likeness, it's just too big to use on a figure. Inigo and MJ are best of the rest. Just go with what 'you' like, it's your figure!

I don't think any of the sculpts available have aced it yet......the search continues! I favour the jnix sculpt as the best Indy.....from a distance.

I'm patiently waiting on the Hot Toys Han bespin figure reveal (disappointingly not at SDCC) to see if there is any potential there.

SigitoSutasmano : That is a seriously good repaint, looks so much better than what SS put out originally.

As for favourite heads, I really like my Inigo V2 painted by Nathan. Looks a lot like Indy to me. Having said that, I am super excited to get an Inigo V3 when they become available also.

Here is my three Raiders Indy customs together.

The first one has the Treasure Hunter sculpt which I repainted.

The middle one has my repainted Sideshow heads.

The one on the right has a shrunken MJ Choi head I believe which I repainted.

If I had to have just one Indy in my collection it would be this one. I'm really looking forward to getting the Iris clothing to put on him.

The Treasure Hunter sculpt is a recast of the MJ Choi sculpt, right?

I believe so. It's smaller though Wor-Gar. The face is also thinner on it when comparing it to my original MJ Choi sculpt.
