Honestly, looking at the comparisons, I don't like the Sideshow Ash at all. Looks way more like a caricature than the Asmus. I feel like maybe something good could come out of this when the customizers work their magic and blend the two together. That said, Sideshow just refunded me my deposit...

Very valid concern, fully agree!

To give it a fair chance here, I've tried to match the lighting. Of course taking a photo from a separate lighting source won't look amazing either way, but with the adjustments done - I've seen better, I've seen worse. Make of that what you will.

When you consider what some Halloween fans pay to custom make their Myers figures, $200 or 350 for a decent base isn't really that much. A lot of this is about perspective. I'd say customizers are generally happier collectors, because if they don't like something, they will fix it. Meanwhile...

Welp, I was very much looking forward to this release but this bodes no good news so far. I delayed my next sideshow payment and wait for some in-hand pics. If they're all this bad, that's goodbye to my first Asmus figure!

Awesome, I'm very much looking forward to it then! I was sweating bullets when I had to undo the rubber panels underneath the R1 HT Stormtrooper armor, so I was afraid this guy would be the same :D

Was the armor on the sides glued down? Or is it pegged in place, like the old Clone Trooper figures are? I just got one on ebay and I'd like to swap bodies as well.
