1/6 Avengers: Endgame - 1/6th scale Iron Man Mark LXXXV (Battle Damaged Version)

This turned out excellent. I’m very excited to get my hands on it. Headsculpt is BARELY a downgrade from the proto which is super rare. From some angles I actually like it better. Damage on the shoulders is a bit soft but everywhere else looks great. The gold looks thankfully more muted than...

1/6 Hot Toys Avengers: Endgame - Iron Man

I do expect the gold to be a little brighter than I would’ve hoped. I generally prefer less saturated golds on iron man, and the 85 had that look in the film. I won’t be getting this figure, so I won’t know, but the fixes on the armor for this release and hot toys knowledge about the head sculpt...

Your simplification of disagreeing opinions goes further to show your own understanding than anyone else’s.

I’m with you on the head sculpt for sure. That was a massive downgrade and deserves criticism. However I feel people are letting that blind them to the improvements made on the rest of the figure.

I seriously do not understand how people are starting to say the prototype was better. The prototype had the same inaccuracies of the concept art. All changes made since have been for the sake of film accuracy. Please look deep at the details in these comparisons. https://imgur.com/a/IjvpNtC

Proportion and paint comparisons on a figure like this don’t really hold much weight to me unless you somehow have both figures in hand. Considering that you have to take into account lighting, angle, and all of the intricate posing options you can do with figures like this, photographs are hard...

Most of the changes spoken about here and elsewhere are done for the sake of film accuracy. The prototype is based on Ryan Meinerding’s concept art. The final is based on the film. You may prefer the look of the prototype, which is fine, but the final figure is undeniably more screen accurate.

I don’t know what you guys are on about. Sculpt looks spot on to me

1/6 Avengers: Endgame - 1/6th scale Iron Man Mark LXXXV (Battle Damaged Version)

To illustrate some of the changes I was talking about earlier, I made a more movie accurate edit of the torso: Heres the way it currently looks on the figure: Not the most important details in the world, but they remind me of the slight accuracy edits made to the Mark 45 before release that I...

1/6 Avengers: Endgame - 1/6th scale Iron Man Mark LXXXV (Battle Damaged Version)

I’ve been looking into the accuracy of both MK85 figures and here’s a few things I’ve noticed. First off, it seems the eyes have been made more accurate on the BD than the clean, including a few more edges to match the film. Second, the torso on the BD has been improved in overall shapes, and by...

1/6 Avengers: Endgame - 1/6th scale Iron Man Mark LXXXV (Battle Damaged Version)

What do you guys think the likelihood of a 1/4 release of this suit and the 50 would be? I’m thinking there’s a better chance knowing no new suits will be coming from now on, and hot toys will want to get as much out of iron man as they can. I could even see a 1/4 scale mark 4-7 and 46/47...

I didn’t even think about that. It kind of bothered me that he didn’t close his helmet right before snapping, but it makes sense that his helmet was fully gone. I should’ve remembered that’s how these suits work.

1/6 Hot Toys - Avengers: Endgame Iron Patriot

Fair enough. I see new releases a lot on display at my local comic store, but I only own two iron men so far so there’s barely any I can truly compare the looks of. Hearing that though, it almost makes me think plastic figures were a better option for their price alone, considering they look...

1/6 Hot Toys - Avengers: Endgame Iron Patriot

That’s not exactly what I meant when judging it by paint quality. It’s pretty clear to me when comparing a HPP suit to a diecast release that the diecast will always look better. I don’t know wether that’s because they put more work into painting more expensive figures, wether I’m simply looking...

1/6 Hot Toys - Avengers: Endgame Iron Patriot

The main reason I thought it would happen is because as far as I knew, they hadn't done a diecast figure this big until now (The whiplash MK2 slipped my mind). Seems to me this suit is probably most comparable in size to the Mark 25 or 35, which were plastic and power pose respectively. The...

1/6 Hot Toys - Avengers: Endgame Iron Patriot

I’m disappointed that it’s die cast, as I might’ve been able to afford a plastic one, but I’m not sure I would’ve actually bought a blue and red suit as my first war machine anyways. I also wish the circles lit up red, because that was one of the coolest things about this suit. Nice that...

1/6 Hot Toys - Avengers: Endgame Iron Patriot

I feel like this forum wouldn’t even exist if the conversation always came down to “hot toys gets official materials from *insert company* so they know what’s correct.” Figures obviously sometimes have flaws. Sometimes they’re hot toys fault, sometimes not. Either way, it’s fun to talk about...

1/6 Avengers: Endgame - 1/6th scale Iron Man Mark LXXXV (Battle Damaged Version)

I love the fact that this scene has become so iconic that this very basic non-specific pose is now recognizable as the snap. Obviously the context of them holding the figure is a massive clue as to what it means but I feel like if I just saw a photo of joe Russo doing that I’d know what he was...

Re: Avengers: Endgame - 1/6th scale Iron Man Mark LXXXV (Battle Damaged Version) Coll What I gather from what RDJ said is that Tony’s newer suits are more about doing whatever it takes to protect the people around him. This is evidenced in IW where he says the new reactor was made “to protect...

1/6 Hot Toys - Avengers: Endgame Iron Patriot

So far I can't see any number 005 or 007 or anything on this. I guess it'd just make more sense to refer to this as the Iron patriot mark 2.
