I'm playing it for the first time now,

I've known about the plot and reveal for years now,

but I'm still gonna cry about this,

You still "choose" your destiny as contradictory as that seems.

If you like retro gaming and love kotor, you should try jade empire (not star wars related), it was also pretty amazing. Its kind of a forgotten game when people discuss best ever games.

Absolutely adore Jade Empire. The twists and turns in the story were expertly handled.

Yup, both from video games - Knights of the Old Republic and The Force Unleashed, respectively. If you play KOTOR, your player character is actually revealed as being Revan with amnesia.

Oops, spoilers for a really old game! 😜
I’m in middle school when I first played the game. Really like the story and gameplay, it has that gameplay choices affecting the story. You can follow the light side or the dark side. Unlocking different skills, with force choking only available if you chose dark side. And the darker your choice, your appearance will change, getting paler and yellow eyes. Even the character display will change to a whiter tone with a dark mist. Quite a pioneer for a video game back then. It really is an intriguing story, playing as “you” then closer to the end, I got suspicious because the story made me like, “wait a minute” the story made you put two and two together. And then the reveal.

My jaw dropped. It was one of my best gaming moments. I was in my teens, not a lot of references as I knew now, didn’t really understand Star Wars movies because I watched it a few as a kid. But Knights of the Old Republic changed my views of video gaming, stories, and of course Star Wars. I took note of who made the game, it’s Bioware. And after KotOR I played another Bioware games like Jade Empire, and of course Mass Effect. All of them are also great. KotOR is one of the few games I replayed, with the second run I chose to be full arrogant and that led me to the dark side, which is cooler. Because the first playthrough I was a nice guy like every normal person played it🤣 and being on the dark side made the reveal more fun because you are really evil in the first place, and then got angry because you are manipulated by the Jedi. But the canon story is you are getting to the light side IIRC.

So yeah, you’ll get why people like Revan and wanted the figure for a long time. Beside a cool design, the story is one of the best Star Wars piece ever made.

I keep meaning to play KOTOR, but I’m also hoping the remake they announced actually gets released. Decisions, decisions.

The remake will come years later, with the current state we don’t even know it will be good. I suggest you play the original right now. And when the remake does eventually come, you can play again and compare it.

Looks like Revan and Starkiller may be an exclusive :( (got this from reddit)

I still doubt it, I'm sure they'll be regular releases.

We'll find out soon though.

Which Vader is that though? Kenobi with the robes over the top?

Yeah but it also used a blogger pic, it's strange.

Maybe they are doing 2.0's of all these characters and want to wait until the expo to show them. A new Adam Driver sculpt with moving eyes would be cool.

There are so many typos and innuendos in those posts nothing really seems clear. But yes, preorder first at the event for Starkiller and Revan, how exclusive they will be is anybody's guess but I'm betting at least artisan level rarity or regular con exclusive aka pretty much a normal release.

Doubt they will be umbara, sorry, umbra, trooper level rare. Makes no sense for the R&D needed for the molds.

Beside a new or retooled Maul sold in a TPM anniversary window box, i don't see Hot Toys offering 2.0 of any other featured characters just yet. Much like their first poster, those older creations are meant to promote their Darkside event and will be displayed to support the couple new figures already teased.

That image doesn't show anything updated, literally the same figures from before. Pretty sure Vader is just the one from the Tarkin 2pack.

Don't know why they are saying "NEW" with images of old figures. Kylo you can still get aftermarket for like $170 or lower, Maul doesn't go for much above retail either.
