I missed out on it too. Dunno if I even got an e-mail and I blew it off.

Still, not as &^%$ as I might be. That's a big increase for all wool hair and a cloth bandana. Threw some points in and got the DX; put myself on the waitlist for the Artisan. (Like, I'm still wondering if I'm stupid for picking up artisan Scarlet Witch tho hafta say if you're gonna make the effort for at Artisan, IMO Jack Sparrow would be the one).

I own every version of HT Jack, to way back when the sculpt looked more like a cousin of Jack's.
Used to think I'd upgrade the earlier sculpts. Now I think it's kinda interesting to see the progression. Think JS might have been my first HT. But, if they ever redid the original, I'd pick that up too.

Dam this actually sells the smile sculpt better than the dx15 smile.

I don't think the sculpted hair bothers me on dx vs. implanted on artisan BUT that shiny plastic bandanna/scarf around his head on Dx when compared to the cool looking cloth one on the artisan sure is a difference. I guess if hat is kept on less of an issue and probably wouldn't have paid any attention to it had it not been for the artisan comparison. Cheers JC.

Yeah, this revised sculpt seems to work better with the smirk. One of the main reasons I bought the Artisan were these Secret Base photos.

Definitely keep the hat on. The lack of paint detail on such a large canvass is... egregious.

Yup. I actually was lucky to get Artisan but also considering second PO for collector ED because of the "posing paralysis" I am sure to encounter with this very expressive captain. I figure Artisan absent hat and coat to showcase the goods and CE full coat and hat in a second pose... maybe?

Am already wondering about just making a thin cloth one to put over. Or not. I usually display with the hat tho. Who knows, too, maybe my waitlist will convert. I doubt it, but maybe there will be cancellations when something else new and shiny gets released. IMO just not having a cloth one to being with for the DX is stupid, reminds me of Blitzway's Zorro where the hat is attached to head (tho not that bad; just think HT was trying hard to justify the Artisan version like all rooted hair wasn't enough)

Now I feel like re-watching all the films.

The DX15 face has never looked good, it was creepy looking in promo pics and just as bad in hand. I tried a few shots with it when I first got it and never liked it. I switch between DX06 smirk and DX15 serious for my figure on display.

I have that solved since I have the DX15. Like you, I want the two looks.

Yeah, that weird upturned lip on the smirk makes him look like the eye-patch villain in House of Dragons.

Less pucker on the new Jack Sparrow looks much better.

It’s very interesting how we all see things differently. The DX06 looks almost nothing like Depp to me, so much that I never even used it when I had it. I even prefer the prototype DMC smirking headsculpt over the DX06 one. I think we can all agree that that new one beats them all though

Looks very primitive now... but that was a long time ago.

I still have the Cannibal Jack boxed up somewhere.

Beat you to it... already re-watched the first one last night! fond memories of the kids liking the movies so much and playing the Lego game with them that mirrored the movies. Good Stuff

Yeah, I love the Zombie shark too. Who knows if secondary market values go down on DX15 below CE cost on new one, maybe do that instead... but then again... face sculpt on new one is just so darn good.. both of them! And I suppose with CE of new one + Artisan = same sculpt so would have backup if eyeballs broke or lost or something stupid.

For sure, I remember a big group of us went to the first one; we didn't know much about it - but it ended up being a fantastic time at the movies - where the audience breaks into applause at the end.

Then we had a great dinner. Good times.

I wouldn't say nothing like Depp for DX06, but certainly it's not on the level of DX15 serious or DX37-39 smirk.

If only the Cannibal smirk head looked as good as the prototype. The Cannibal face was actually THE best likeness for a long time, quite ahead of it's time for HT in those days.

For me, the DX15 smirk face just sucks all around, forget likeness, just the expression makes him look creepy, like he's about to do something inappropriate to someone.

Compared to that, DX06 with a perfect expression and questionable likeness was a better option. If I can get the new smirk head, I'll probably forever use that. I only swap between DX06 smirk and DX15 serious because sometime I want the better likeness vs the persona of the smirk.
