Yes, namely in what he looks like, his hair color and length, the beads and costuming details that are way different, but I’m sure there’s Jack aficionados that can speak to it better.

From what I’ve gathered, COTBP Jack is more of a simple straightforward costume design whereas DMTNT Jack is decked out and has lots of straps and belts and golden embroidered lining everywhere that is missing on COTBP.

Yes and it gets more different as the movies progress. The main reason that COTBP is more different than the later films is that they didn't really expect the movie to be such a hit and they no longer had the materials to remake the costume again, except his sash if I remember correctly; so, once you got to DMC/AWE, new stuff was picked for his costume that were similar to the original design while also adding to the amount of trinkets he had.

Rather than explaining all the differences, the easy thing to do would be to look up the original Medicom 1/6 Jack Sparrow figure as that one is based on his COTBP costume even though the branding for it is DMC/AWE. It's not 100% accurate but it's close enough that you'll get the idea.

Then look at that costume compared to the DX15 DMTNT figure. As @hyperaccuracydrive mentioned, the COTBP costume is the most simple looking one out of all the Jack Sparrow costumes.

Yes. Curse was the simplest costume and also featured different parts than later costumes.

There are small differences you could get into, but here are some of the key highlights.

Finally getting a COTBF version would have been so awesome. Hell, them finally doing a Barbosa with swap out half curse sculpt/hands or even an updated Davy Jones would have been more interesting. Going with the laziest route with this is such a bummer.

Davy jones, Barbosa, Will Turner, Elizabeth need to be made and 2.0. I'll fight tooth an nail to get this even if I have to spend more to get it from HK resellers. But I do hope it's easier to get this time but that's probably going to be insane.
 
the old Davy Jones figure is still awesome - but I would JUMP on a new one and on a well-done Barbossa [alive and undead]

I feel like this is one of those moments when your friend is way over-accessorising and you need to tell them to take two things away.
The DMTNT look is just WAY too busy, its why I prefer the OST/DX06 look.
Even though, individually I really like some of the added accessories - the crocodile skin belt in particular has an awesome design, but its too busy and has strayed into parody territory.
Replace the old baldrick or double belts with the crocodile belt and it would look so much better.
 
Yup, I've never used the third belt on my figure, never liked the look. My figure is a mash of Pirates 2-4 with my custom hat paint being based on Curse as that's my favorite hat. It's not true to any one movie. I thought the second belt and the trinkets was fitting for Jack's character.
 
Would love a 2.0 of the original MMS POTC Figures especially Davy Jones and Will Turner. Bill Nighy was so expressive and his eyes still gave him the emotion so he'd really benefit from moveable eyes, especially with the restriction of his tentacle beard.

I say with no hyperbole that Davy Jones is so iconic in design, performance and motivation/backstory that he deserves to be a contender in the all-time villain Hall of Fame
- a man whose heartbreak is so great he cuts out his own heart so not to feel it?
- a man so twisted with sorrow and hate he turns, literally, into a monster?
- a fallen psychopomp and the spurned vengeful lover of a goddess?
- a satanic lord of the seas, captain of the most famous Ghost Ship of folklore, in command of legendary eldritch monsters, forging faustian pacts and damning souls into serving him?

Seriously - Davy Jones is the coolest MF
 
Even though a bootleg of the HT Davy was sold a few years ago, a new take would be amazing. The first figure was impressive for the time, but there's a lot of room for greater film accuracy and a better overall figure.

I 100% agree with you. I know ppl love Barbossa and understandably so, but Davy Jones is a big reason why DMC is my favorite of the POTC movies.

Them for sure. Don't know if Kit can get some as he mentioned he couldn't get Joker or Anakin before.

Yea I wouldn't expect Kit to get it unless it's like WB100 Wonder Woman where you could place an order but it wasn't a guarantee and only depended on if he could actually get stock.
 
I think kit didn't stock the others due to mark up I could be wrong. However I wouldn't mind paying the mark up on this if it meant not paying scalper prices.

This is one I'd really like. If I can sure one I'll probably shift my dx15.
 
That's also if they do a standard version. Only one who was full Artisan was Anakin Joker and Scarlett witch both had standard versions also. I probably won't care as long as I can get one but I do hope I can snag an Artisan version.
