They're doing the cliché slowed down song performed by a woman. I've that in about a thousand trailers. We'll see. At least we're getting merchandise out of it.
It's all so very tiresome, isn't it?

Slowed down song....frames of black between edits....slow build up to the reveal.

Or in the new Aliens trailer it's the same thing but instead of the slowed down pop song it's "bwaaaahhhm.........bwaaaaaahm........bwaaaaaaaaahm."

Same ****. Over and over and over again.

Yet every single time, people proclaim how "epic!!!!" it is.

I'm so tired.

And every drama/thriller trailer starts with a single piano key.

Most trailers are cut by a small handful of trailer houses. Would explain why they're so formulaic.

Here's one you won't be able to un-notice: if it's not a piano note, every trailer starting with a low bass tone of some sort.

All trailers have always looked the same because like you said, it's only a handful of people putting them all together. I remember a run in the late 90s where seemingly every trailer had to use "Baba O'Riley" for some reason.

It's just that the last several years, these are the trends they've been going with and there's not an ounce of creativity or imagination in any of them.

I admit, I thought the same thing. Very tired trailer cliche. But aside from that, me gusto.

Looking forward to this one. I wish Johnny Depp and Burton would make one more film together.

Not Edward Scissorhands lol. Good movie but I don't need a sequel to that...

Even a perpetual grump like me can't resist smiling when I saw Keaton dressed up as the ghost with the most.

Teaser should have been JUST that 15 seconds. Screw the rest of it.

(I didn't know Catherine O'Hara was coming back....that's cool. I guess Jeffrey Jones and Alec Baldwin weren't invited for....reasons. And poor Glenn Shadix has been dead for over a decade.)

Would have been nice to see Geena Davis again though. Especially since her and Baldwin should still be haunting that house if I remember right.
Yeah, I wonder what the writers came up with to explain that.

I assume Jeffrey Jones' character is dead and the subject of the funeral. But then why isn't he haunting the house? Questions questions questions. Maybe the Maitlands are helping him be processed through the waiting room and they come back to the house after the evens of the movie.

Solved. :lol

I hope we see a return of Harry Hunter

Was never a fan of Ghostbusters or Beetlejuice I know I know crazy talk.

In the 80’s only 4 things mattered to me entertainment wise:

1. Thinking of Star Wars immediately after the ROTJ dry spell started.

2. Action movies

3. Frank Miller

4. T&A

I suppose they could have them looking like this again, since you could put anybody in that makeup.

I'll be surprised if we don't at least get a quick cameo from Davis though. It would be too weird not having her in this, with her daughter back in the house again.

"Plink."..........................."Plink.".........................dialogue...................."plink plink."

RAGHAGHAHGAGHAGH I can't take it anymore!!!

It's time to take a power drill to my head, "Pi" style.

How about when the twist in the trailer comes and the sound goes out, everything goes slo-mo, and you feel a heavy low bass winding downward.

James Gunn loves this, even has it in his films.

All trailers have always looked the same because like you said, it's only a handful of people putting them all together. I remember a run in the late 90s where seemingly every trailer had to use "Baba O'Riley" for some reason.

Yeah, in the 90's every action trailer used the Aliens climax score for its last few seconds (the escape from the nuke cue)

I admit, I thought the same thing. Very tired trailer cliche. But aside from that, me gusto.

Yeah it's not the most inspired trailer, but hearing Keaton do the Beetlejuice voice again after all these years is still cool as hell.
I am SO tired of this trend....

Former business and legal guru Charles Deetz actually read and understood the Handbook and found a legal-loophole allowing him to expedite his case and move on [finally freeing himself so he can relax away from his wife]

The Maitlands is a difficult one, but you could say:
- they were granted the right to travel [once the proper paperwork was filed] as a reward for defeating Beetlejuice/inspiring new relations with the living and are currently haunting a cruise together.
- Adam and/or Barbra also moved on due to Charles' loophole [which has since been closed]
- Adam and/or Barbra have become afterlife caseworkers in the hopes of changing the system from the inside [or at least being more helpful to newcomers than their caseworker was] or maybe they were forced to as "community service" for releasing Beetlejuice in the first place.
