We're not really discussing the eyebrow. We're discussing the eye itself being askew unnaturally. The brow doesnt matter.

If I do get a standard I'll be happy with the full shirt. He only spends about two minutes in the torn version. If you want to get truly accurate you torn shirt peeps need to paint a big white streak in his hair. lol

I had always planned to display with the regular shirt. I love the idea of a "Groovy" Hero Ash. I'd like to see a JX S01 with the Asmus clothes. It's good to know the JX S01 body matches the Asmus head sculpt skin tone though!

Good to see real in-hand pictures/videos.

Taking them at face value thus far, but as more collectors receive their orders we'll see how wide spread the QC issues truly are mixed with those that got past QC by the brand along with those who'll still be "satisfied" with/without the evident QC issues.

For those who are truly happy/satisfied with what you paid for and received, then so be it. This shouldn't absolve/forgive the brand of how they handled the production and rollout. However, I suspect many just want to move past it now right, wrong, and indifferent.

"Groovy."
"Lets head down into that cellar and carve ourselves a witch."
"Join us!"

This is all before weathering. Going to start weathering and bloodying them up soon.

So I swapped "Hero Ash" over to a Hot Toys Dark World Thor Body. Stock ripped shirt, boots, pants, chainsaw, harness. Watch was in a parts drawer. Belt with correct buckle was in parts drawer.

Deadite Ash is on the Stock body but I removed the full rubber torso and replaced it with an old DX05 chest piece I had in my body bin. Only because I couldnt get that hunched look I wanted for a pose. Stock shirt and belt. The pants are an old pair of Sideshow until I get another Asmus pair parted out.

Overall this is one hell of a Groovy set! Time to weather!!

I personally am shocked how this thread went from absolute hatred and fact that this was a 100% fail based on not having the figure in hand and only going off the first wave of poor quality photos to turning around to the concensus that it is a pretty decent release now that folks are getting it in hand.

Oh, wait, no I'm not...thus is how this seems to go on the majority of releases. What surprises me is it's now just newbs who joined the forum this month making these classic conclusions.

Not saying it's perfect, but GD when will people learn. There is some dude on youtube that made a whole video parroting the early comments as fact and doesn't even have the figure in hand. Newb

That's why I don't panic cancel anything. And if it does indeed turn out **** I'll do what I can to make it better. It's part of the fun in the hobby.

Still not loving the paint apps on Ash's head, especially those super wonky eyes, but I'm happy to see there is potential for customizing and mixing/matching. Looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!

I do think it was mostly trolling and gaslighting from a few members.

I still feel like there’s a big drop in quality from proto to production but like rzeznikk said I wasn’t going to panic cancel before I saw it for myself and I can work with everything I’ve seen so far.

That thor body looks great, changing the body is great improve.
But ey, i still believe is an expensive set for 350 that need body replacement and work in most of the elements.
Said that, figure looks now way better.
Now decide wich body is best

With utmost respect, the three of you have the benefit of experience and skill to customize/fix what you don't like about the figure out of the box and the primary cost is your effort and time along with materials/supplies.

Not all have the expertise and skills you do as "customizers" and hoped a $350.00 USD figure would be as good as it gets out of the box, but . . .

The preceding is not meant as a criticism to any of you. It's simply a statement of fact. There are those with the expertise and skills to fix the figure in varying degrees and those who don't and cannot while not necessarily be able to spend additional $ to fix known issues that the brand did not.

Awesome pics and posing Rzeznikk!

I'm pleased to see that the deluxe set is looking pretty good now for those who ordered, although I'm still OK with my decision to switch to standard since that already comes with everything I'd most want in an Ash figure anyway.

I’m still extremely happy that I canceled this figure. The figure dropped enough in quality for me to not want to spend $350+ on it. I don’t customize, so I still would have been SOL.

I don’t care about what other people do with their money and I’m always happy to see other people happy and enjoying the hobby, so there’s that.

Looking forward to seeing someone make this look like the prototype.

Yeah same here. The torn shirt is a pretty iconic look, but kinda hard to pull off well in 1/6 scale, and I'd just rather have the look he had in the vast majority of the movie.

Yeah, I won't defend this set. And for those that Are looking for straight out of the box and display might still be disappointed. The biggest glaring issue is the Deadite head not fitting on the Stock body correctly.
And Linda's Hair, but that was wrong even at the Proto stage.

When did that happen? I still think is sucks , especially for 350…..

With so many people complaining that everyone was complaining……people stopped complaining…..

I doubt many of them changed their minds, They just voted with their wallets and went on their way.

It could be worse.

Complaints about people voting with their wallets and going on their way.

I'm perfectly happy I canceled the luxury. There wasn't a single thing accurate about the luxury add ons. Even now Henrietta isn't particularly accurate, lindas hair is still wrong, and the base looks nothing like the cabin in the film. I will however admit to there being a tiny bit of potential in the standard release. We shall see.
