You figured it out. I'm really a Sideshow insider previewing the next SDCC exclusive. We were going to go with the Desert Assault Crimson Ninja Viper but decided on another sniper. :wink1:

I've contacted the seller and Sideshow and am waiting a reply. I don't think the seller is trying to pull a fast one because it doesn't make sense that he would do that just to sell it for about the original retail price. He probably aquired it as is and either never looked at it or didn't know...

That's why I posted this. I wanted to see if anyone knew of a factory mistake like this. I kind of like it too but I don't want someone's custom they're trying to pass off as new. Then again if the seller knew it was a custom he would have had to know it would probably be returned. So why sell...

I don't see any red. Looks sharp and crisp too. Here are pics of the chest and sleeve logos. Still going to return it.

I was curious if it was possible that Sideshow produced a variant of the black sniper (not the desert ops sniper) that could have put out there as a special find. I highly think this is a custom but wanted to be sure before I sent it back.

Even with all the mixed reactions I'd be shocked if the exclusive didn't sell out (as long as the proto pics look good). I saw the same with the Emma Frost PF (Which I hate BTW). Huge critisism but a sell out (Probably a lot of wait list conversions on that one though). :dunno

I didn't know who Darth Talon was until I saw the Gentle Giant bust. I thought the character looked fantastic and am looking forward to getting the PF. I never though I'd go after an EU charater since I'm an original trilogy guy, but I guess the bikini sold me. :naughty

I think it looks cool, but I would have loved to see a new figure instead of a variant. Expect more of the same in the future though. It's not a new practice, many companies do it. It makes them money at less cost than developing a new character. Too bad they don't pass those savings on to us...
