That Casey head in the water is a nice touch. If only we could put the Prime 1 alien warrior on the CoolProps base, then we'd have the best of both. As it is, I'm not sure I'll be buying either of them.
That is indeed a fantastic display. I'm more of a "buy it first and figure out where to put it later" type of collector, so it's nice to see a well thought out display.
I think the alien itself looks fine, not mind-blowing, but fine. The only thing that bothers me about it are those chode dorsal pipes. They've definitely gone overboard with the base with all those eggs though. And as much as I like the look of a facehugger coming out of an egg, did they...
I am quite pleased with mine; it really is quite impressive in person. I don't think it was mentioned previously, but the edition size for this bust is 200.
Oh snap, that's gorgeous, especially the teeth. I was getting a bit of pre-order buyer's remorse waiting for this, but seeing these pictures makes me excited again. Mine should be shipping out to me soon.
It probably is, but then Sideshow would have to try for accuracy, and we know how that goes...
In its own right, this barbarian predator is a rad design. Too bad it will probably be plastic with obvious seams, a lackluster paint job, and be priced at $800.
That's a good question. I guess only time will tell, and I'll have a front row seat for that. One would hope that the important structural parts are reinforced with metal, but who knows.
Good to hear! It would be a shame to have to go through the whole process of returning/exchanging it over...
There are instructions in the box that mention that a bit of warping can happen, and that minor adjustments can be made by heating up the piece with a hairdryer and gently bending it back into shape. I wonder if that would be enough to fix those with floating right hands. Fortunately, I didn't...
That's a night and day difference. I have my fingers crossed that they apply this kind of effort to all their future and in-progress pieces. It's a smart business decision, since better looking busts equals higher sales.
My hat's off to you, Burtial. That's an incredible collection, and well displayed. I love it when a collection is so massive that even huge life-size busts can just blend right in.
Great new photos. I don't see the much-maligned corrugated tube encircling the arm hole that was present on the Big Chap bust, so that's a plus. I do notice that this bust has a full set of dorsal pipes, unlike the Big Chap bust. Both open and closed-mouth heads look fantastic. Now, if only...
I hope Prime 1 one aren't dead set on selling this as is, with that absurdly extravagant base. They took constructive criticism of their Big Game Predator and made adjustments, so I hope they listen everyone regarding the base here. That warrior is glorious and I dearly want it, but that base...
