This is something I've also proposed. Hasbro and the Jabba Sailbarge is a prime example. But Hot Toys choose to use cutting edge consumer interest measurement such as voluntary feedback from "interested" individuals at cons to distributors such as SS, which then possibly gets transferred to HT....... enough said.

In the end it's probably what Howard wants/likes and thinks will make money.

I've been asking them to make the Range Trooper and Mimban Trooper on their FB for a while now. I probably won't do that if they didn't say anything about that voluntary feedback BS.

No Solo display at the Hot Toys booth at the Tokyo Comic Con :(

Yes, while there is a lot there, there isn't really a lot. I guess those display cases they use don't really enable efficient use of space to show as many figures as possible. Also nothing really new. Seems they aren't really using Expos to show totally new figures off like they used to a few years ago. Which is a pity really.

Bummer. I was hoping there was still a chance they would do/show Qira and Lando.

I think your only hope for those 2 are if Disney decides to finish the Qira/Maul and Han/Lando stories on their Streaming service in a couple of years as a 1-2 season mini series (or more). Seems the logical place to do that imo, especially after getting cold feet with the big budget movie reception it got.

Disney better not wait too long if we're ever to see more of young Han and Qi'ra. Alden really works as Han 10 years prior to ANH but not so much two or three years prior to ANH.

The one thing working in our favor for possibly seeing more HT figures is that Episode IX is still more than a year away. If IX was hitting this Christmas then Solo offerings would definitely be done.

I like the series idea as long as they keep the seasons short and tight. I would hate to see the show with such a good premise get stale and suffer from episode padding. Hmm, thinking about it, I nominate Noah Hawley who makes the Fargo TV series which has been excellent (although season 3 was "merely" good).

That's a good point about Ep IX being a year away. HT will have to dig into the existing movies, so hopefully that includes Solo!

I think Solo is done. It didn't pan out for Disney and there's far too big a galaxy to exploit to bother retreading this minimal in hopes someone cares.

They have the Mandalorian now, which is essentially Boba Solo... and they can do all the inclusive stories they want.

You never know what the future will hold. We might not get a Solo centric movie but any spin off set in that era could see him return. Anyway, i'm still confident for a Range trooper but especially for a Mimban Stormtrooper.

I do think a Maul from Solo would sell well, and it's definitely in my top 5 wanted figures.

Maul from a Rainbow Pony cartoon would sell well. He's like Vader or Boba/Jango...

But they won't go near Maul again until their current version is released and shipped. So you have quite some time to plan that "Dear Hot Toys" request email.

I don't think HT is going to mess with Solo stuff anymore. It bombed. Rogue One was a big success and they didn't even bother making the main bad guy or a couple of the other primary good guys.

I'm getting the Mudtrooper from Solo and that's it unless they do something shocking and make Woody Harrelson.

Yep. Definitely looking forward to the Mudtrooper. Too bad there clearly isn't enough interest to generate another character PO or two.

I don't believe there's too much demand so the Mudtrooper is likely going to be a low edition size... even if its available for a long time at deep discounts when its released.

It's too bad HT doesn't produce these figures closer to the release date of the film. I realize they have to gauge interest in the line, but by the time these toys are released the property is ice cold.

I'm probably in the minority but I really liked Solo. It's a Western, Gangster, Double-Cross, Heist Film in Space. No Jedis, no Force and no mysticism. I liked it. The fact Last Jedi did so well and Solo bombed, makes me wonder about the current state of Star Wars. Kids like Jedis and Porgs I guess and they buy tickets and toys.

I thought Range Trooper would be the most popular but I guess the higher production cost from the materials stopped it from being made?

Bingo!

And since it shares the same helmet design as the Tank Trooper from RO -- which is something I so desperately want -- HT has chosen to punish me and refuse to make it.

Unless we see it in the new Diego Luna prequel show on the Disney streaming service. Then it might still have a chance at seeing the light of day!

Yep, I'm placing a lot of hope on that show in bringing us the Rogue One figures we missed out on. As it's in more or less the same time period, there's a small chance.....
