People are allowed to justify their collecting however they see fit. I don't understand the mentality of trying to shame people for buying what they want, "overspending" on something because there is a cheaper option available. Who cares.

I buy from several lines. I'm not a completist in any one line. However, some people are, and that's great! There is so much trash-talk, it gets old. I think most people are here on this S.H. Figuarts Star Wars page to to get updates on SHF and bask in their awesomeness. Sure, it's a bummer when a less-than-perfect headsculpt comes out, but then they drop something like TLJ Luke, arguably the best likeness yet. And look at EP3 Obi and Dooku, those are INSANE. Yes, it's also lame when we don't get tons of awesome accessories, but I think those will also come in waves. Dooku has lightning, woo!

Every line has hits and misses. The SHF IW Cap for instance, the body is awesome and a super fun figure. But the head is awful, terrible terrible. And he doesn't even come with Wakandan shields. But then you have their IW Black Widow with an uncanny ScarJo likness.

Mafex definitely has stepped it up, awesome accessories, much less QC issues, killer paint, etc. But they're also $20 more expensive than they used to be and rising.

BS has stepped it up, the faces were absolutely the weakest link in those figs. I will continue to fill in my character voids with them, and I love how quickly they are pumping stuff out.

In summary (lol), I think if we as a whole stopped using terms like "blows out of the water," "totally obliterates," "takes out back and smashes till next Tuesday," then maybe we'd have a more positive thread. :hi5:

:goodpost:

People like to be proud of their purchase and their decisions. And be able to pat themselves on the back at how great and smart they are. And when that doesn't work, they put down others when they too don't agree or applaud and revel at their genius. And then the insults come when their opinions are not shared to make them again feel superior.

Basically a form of bullying to justify someones own insecurities...

We have this in every thread. This one is the best, the others suck. Mine is better, you'rs is *****. Your dumb, I'm smarter. Greatest figure ever, worst figure ever. Best ever made...

Blah... Blahh... Blahhh

Meanwhile, people not into this hobby of collecting or having a similar hobby of their own, think we (us toy collectors) are all mental and childish. :(

Can't we all just get along? :hi5:

Lol yes let’s all get along!

I guess I should also note that I prefer SHF most of the time if I have a choice, and that’s why I’m on this SHF SW thread. If that wasn’t clear in my post :) But I’ll still be friendly to everyone.

Yes, let's all get along and accept the fact that Hasbro sucks and needs to go out of business. [emoji2]

advice on best clone trooper? is that mafex ver with both helmets sculpts good inhand or back when the qc was crap?

Actually no, tinlunlau, Hasbro mustn't go out of business.
First, as people told, they are improving...yeah, in more years than the figuarts line in terms of sculpt.
Second, Tamashii dropped the ball for a certain line, that makes Hasbro the main provider for that certain Franchise I'm talking about.
Third, only Hasbro did Revan, Cody, Rex, Wolff, Green, Jaina Solo and the cast of Rebels. Hasbro do serve a purpose.

I'm mainly a figuarts collector for most of my figures ( so not only Star Wars). But I do mix and match for the Star Wars Franchise.
My two main Vaders are the 40th A New Hope Anniversary Vader and the Bandai Model Kit.
I have at least one or two Stormtroopers that are Black Series. They did the Emperial Guards that were pretty much needed.
I have Jaina.
I also have the Solo Calrissian that I don't plan to change with a ESB Figuarts one if they ever do the "minor characters".

One thing I'll say, the Solo Calrissian head is phenomenal and I haven't seen that quality anywhere on a helmetless character in the Black Series line ( no, not even Tarkin from what I saw...)
Also, the articulations are kinda meh, if we really want to compare BS to Figuarts...
Yes, the price point is 20-30€, but I have a 2003 Spider-Man figure that has WAY more articulations than the Black Series Figures and it still holds well these days.
I payed it 25€ and I got more than what Hasbro is proposing now.

So if it says anything, Hasbro "evolving" now is what they should have done years ago, they were in the business way before Tamashii, so no excuses.

I don't know of anyone who picked it up, but it did come out after they improved their QC. So it has that going for it.

I prefer the Figuarts in this case ONLY because of that beautiful egg shell finish they have on them. And while the Phase 1 Figuarts is perfect, the Phase 2 helmet is kind of derp and crummy. But that same finish makes me over look it LOL.

Otherwise I'd recommend the model kit. You also get both helmets. But if I didn't have 5 Figuarts clones already, I'd have tried the Mafex. Clones are the one thing I don't mix and match for each phase, because they're supposed to be clones lol.

I took the black series belt/cod piece and put on figuarts. I think it works really well and makes it able to ride up higher like ANH vader. Also repainted the black series head to proper paint scheme. Looks better if I extend the legs out, but that makes the skirt/robe a lot shorter. Not perfect, but the proportions look better in hand vs my photo

lookin at the shf reviews and yessss that eggshell finish is impressive. the mafex per a review i saw looks like a guy wearing armor and nails that extra chunkiness per reviewer. swaying me in that direction a lil bit, glad to know it came out after they upped qc game.

the BS wolfe, cody and rex are lookin good also.

No problem! If you try it, let us know what you think. I definitely like the way it looks. I don't think you'd go wrong with it.

I've been tempted by the model kits. Being new to Bandai, I didn't realize the model kits and the SHF figures displayed nicely with each other. Now I may have to get Grievous, some Stormtroopers and Clone Troopers
I'm getting really excited for Anakin. Bought one off of an eBay seller 2 weeks ago. Here's hoping he's a reliable seller.

Model kits are my go to Troopers, can't stand anything else lol. The ONLY non model kit Trooper that meets my expectations is the Mafex Death Trooper, and to a slightly lesser extent, the Mafex Shore Trooper. The Mafex DT is one of my all time favorite action figures.

But yeah they go together just fine.

What’s everyone’s preferred shipping method from HLJ to US addresses? I selected DHL they have always been reliable I’m just curious if there is a relatively fast service for cheaper shipping cost?
