I just got these guys. I personally love them. Here's a quick review if anyone cares to check it out-

Nice mini-review. I seem to recall someone saying these guys are a bit over 12" tall - there might be a way to shorten the body a bit (maybe swap the ankle extenders for shorter pins) so the robe comes closer to touching the floor, rather than being that 1/4" or so above the floor. The boots do seem a bit too visible, but it's not a bad look.

I wouldn't be surprised if HT took a bit of artistic license and made the robes slightly shorter so you could see the cool boots. But yeah, maybe the ankle pegs can be shortened for the purists ?

I think Pat Benatar had those boots around 1983. Coincidence? (These are known as "Pat Benatar boots"):

It funny how you can get a high res printout of the two guards paste it to the back of your Detolf and the presence would be the same. Not to mention a great way to space save!!!

I mean having the figures would obviously be nicer, but yeah I could see myself doing this if I ever got the Emperor with chair. I think Palp on chair with 2 other figures will be too busy in a detolf.

Also would be nice saving over $500 Canadian on two minimal background guards. Honestly I’d struggle paying $16 for a LEGO battle pack of these guys haha.

I've just always been a fan of the design of these guys. And while not seen in the movie like that, the 2 guards flanking both sides of the Emperor just looks too damn cool to me.

And that's a great idea about shortening up the legs to get the robes lower. Neither of mine had any spots BTW.

Having the emperor in the chair flanked by the two guards is what I’m going to do. I won’t have the guards on their stands. I think this would look great in a detolf

I don't know what their deal is lately but that's why I left them.

I honestly don't mind at this point haha. I have 2 of these, the deluxe Emperor, and the Mark 4 with Gantry all were supposed to be released in 1st quarter 2019 and are hitting SS 4 months early.

A bit too much at one time, at least unexpectedly, I was preparing for early next year to be rough.
