If I subject myself to actually watching the prequels again there's a good chance I'll lose interest and not want anything to do with them again. :D

:rotfl

ST definitely have the worst designs in the Star Wars universe. From the original Ducktroopers all the way to the knuckle-bearing walkers. The shiny satin Imperial outfits suck too.

Darth Maul as an individual character I feel was well received. So even if he was in a bad film, his role and impact for me was one of the few silver linings of Phantom Menace.

I think I'll stick with just collecting the figures myself. If I subject myself to actually watching the prequels again there's a good chance I'll lose interest and not want anything to do with them again. :D

Hehe yes exactly! I actually tried watching Ep1 again... it was even worse than I remember. I like the underlying story and some designs (especially Maul)... but there’s so much cringeworthy stuff in that movie. That’s when I promised myself not to collect PT... didn’t go too well with that.

Too bad they didn't go for the tattooed body as well. Would have been pretty awesome.

It looks like they went for a EU Maul expression..seriously does anyone remember Maul opening his mouth in the actual film. I’m not joking :dunno

Yeah if there's one area I wish Lucas still has an influence in, it's the design work, as he just seemed to have a magic touch when it came to that.

No, I went through all of TPM taking HD stills and at no point does he do this, snarl and show his teeth, closest would be the gut punched look he makes just after being sliced in half.

I forced myself to watch them one last time with the Rifftrax a while back, and even that was hard to get through.

That's how I've always felt about the PT. Really great overall story and character designs. Horrible script and in most cases acting in general. I still do enjoy them for what they are, though I would be hard pressed to sit through AOTC again. For me the dead-as-wood acting from Natalie Portman is far worse than anything else we've ever seen in any Star Wars movie.

Maul, the Jedi, the clones, Clone Wars, etc.. there are some really cool things that came out of the trilogy regardless of the horrible delivery.

WOW... Can't believe I somehow missed this all day today..:lol Looks amazing. It's perfect. Comes with everything you could wan't. The outer robe, all lightsaber combinations, binoculars, comlink, and 2 head sculpts. The perfect DX!!

Soooooooo glad HT didn't try to squeeze collectors in the DX with Speeder by adding accessories not included with non speeder version, especially the outer robe. :clap As much as I'd love to have the speeder, would be hard to find the space and convince myself to pony up the extra $$... Definitely an immediate PO for me. As I've said before, so glad I held off on the SS v2 figure.

:banana

I think it's a fair criticism... I can't think of any time he makes that expression; it's not fitting with the character so it's a fail.

Darth Maul is more than the movie. It's garbage criticism. These figures are reflections of a character not 1:1 only things shown on film.

ESPECIALLY STAR WARS - there is more to all these characters then whatever is in the films.

TPM mostly sucks, but the moment Maul switches on his dual blade lightsaber is one of the coolest moments in the entire saga. If I only had to buy one figure from the entire PT, this would be it.

:goodpost:

I find it funny that the people complaining about the open mouth sculpt never being in the movies are some of the same people that can't wait for the Royal guard to have them in combat poses, etc.. or can't wait to buy the Range trooper despite being on-screen all of 8 seconds.

Apart from podrace, TPM was good for me.
On the other hand, apart from Tattooine scenes, AOTC was bad for me.

It saddens me to think that one day in the future an entire generation will look back with fond memories at the ST.

You mean, kids shouldn't be able to love the things they grew up with because it's not what you like?

You don't see how that statement makes one look like a bit of an ass? Also, do you not see the irony of posting that as you're buying up prequel figures?...

I'm sure there are people older than you that think all the stuff you love is also ****. How about we let kids like what they want to like?
