Re: QMX Princess Bride

Kind of on a fence about this one. On a scale of Sideshow to Hot toys, where does this company tend to stand quality wise?
Overall in the middle.

Their Khan's production head sculpt was HT quality if not better.
But it had neck tone and fat belly issues.

Pretty much all their figure heads have soft gloss to them, the intensity of which varies from figure to figure.
All QMX figures I've got have almost nonexistent torso articulation.

Re: QMX Princess Bride

Pre ordered. Looks amazing. What's the story with Star Ace Vincent Vega Dave?

I have been very impressed with the quality of their figures. I would put the quality of the ones I have above Sideshow but below Hot Toys although I do think their best releases are better than Hot Toys’ middle of the road releases. Also every one I have bought has had a solid body underneath. No loose joints or need for using stands yet and that is the only company I can say that for.

Re: QMX Princess Bride

I think the figure looks fantastic! I’ve been waiting years for this to go up for order, hoping the final product would meet my expectations, and this production sample does not disappoint.

Dave, I know we talked about the challenges you guys were facing with the mask at SDCC last year, well done. :duff

Outfit seems excessively baggy.

Re: QMX Princess Bride

Inigo is in development. If there's enough support for the line Buttercup and Fezzik are possible.

Any insight into the edition size compared to their Star Trek offerings?

simply asking more or less, not an exact number.

Re: QMX Princess Bride

OK i think it's more a problem with the body, it doesn't fills the shirt enough at the waist and arms. A body swap would fix that.

Very small, or else he's destined for the bargain bin like Mal Reynolds and Captain Picard. :(

Firefly and Star Trek figures didn't seem as popular as I hoped they'd be. Can't imagine The Princess Bride being a better seller by comparison.

I like to see QMx do well as they're one of the companies that's still putting the effort in, while others seem to be going off the boil.

That’s what I was thinking too. Just trying to gauge whether to pre-order or take a chance that it will be available heavily marked down.

Im guessing pre-orders better inform QMx of the popularity and lead to getting additional characters sooner rather than never.

Re: QMX Princess Bride

Pre-ordered here in Europe as soon as it was available :)

Pretty sure that there won't be enough sales for QMX to justify the cost of developing Fezzik, but hoping that at least it sells enough to get us Iñigo Montoya.

Re: QMX Princess Bride

My wife has been putting up with my collecting for years, and has been very supportive. I'm so glad this has come out.
This is her favorite movie of all time, she was so excited when I showed her this.
Preordered right away.
Please do the full line, I'll buy everyone.

Re: QMX Princess Bride

Looks Fantastic! Preordered on the QMX site for the free shipping. Really hope this does well enough to green light Inigo Montoya. Fezzik would be an amazing figure also, plus I think he would sell better than expected because people could also get him to use as an Andre the Giant wrestling figure.

We're still tweaking the order size and that's why we're taking pre-orders with Westley. We may have slightly overproduced with Mal and Picard, but we have taken steps to address that issue. I wouldn't wait around too long on Westley or any other of our upcoming figures.

We're still a little new at this, so some adjustments will be needed as we go along.

Is there still a long term plan to continue with Star Trek?

Quite a few characters have been previewed at shows, while others have been teased. I have everything produced so far, and am committed to buying everything that will be as it's a 'feel good' series of figures.

Thanks for the info and congrats! It looks like another one that’s too good to pass up!

Oh yes, we have long term plans to continue Trek. As Nanjin would tell you, Trek is our 1:6 flagship and we will continue.

Re: QMX Princess Bride

The unmasked Westley sculpt doesn't look quite right. He looks more like Peter O'Toole from Lawrence of Arabia, but that's fine. Unless you're going to pose him for the fire swamp, or, "to blave," or, "TO THE PAIN!" he needs to be displayed masked facing Inigo. Obviously Inigo is a must, along with Fezzik, Buttercup, and Vizzini. You don't really need Humperdinck, but you have to have Count Rugen. And I know it's asking too much, but could you even imagine a Miracle Max? That would be inconceivable!
