Maybe War Machine doesn’t get a change of suit from IW to A4 and HT knows that already and is making just one for both films. Maybe that means WM gets a reveal later rather than sooner while they work on the prototype.

I'll spoiler tag all this, but I always said going into this my interests were Thor, Loki, Scarlet Witch, and Iron Man (as they are my individual character lines), and as I'm quite happy to keep my Avenger team to being the Ultron versions of the original Avengers group.. (I'm kind of making up the rest of the main heros by having the solo movie versions of the rest of the leads)

Spoiler:

Thor - I was always going to order him. And did a while back. With the Guardians trailer spot, the figure pair-ups with Groot and Rocket, the Stormbreaker axe, it was pretty obvious he was always going to have a decent role to play in the movie, and the signs were always going to be he would be the sole survivor of the Asgardians... which brings me to...

Loki - I actually whispered to the mrs, that I expected it (hell, he was only cast listed in small print), but it kinda saddened me, because I'm a big fan of the character and the actor who plays him. But I understand why. Loki has been back and forth from brother/ally to enemy, to frenemy to friends again 'with a how long will it be till he backstabs'.. Not sure they can do much more with his character, and they needed an impactful early death. From a figure point of view, I just can't see they can make it. Thor Ragnarok lite for one scene (mind you, TDW was Avenger lite) .. Please, for the love of all things Hot Toys, if you are to ever make another Loki, please give us the one from the first movie with his father's spear.. That's the one we want..

Scarlet Witch - This one I'm not sure about. As a character we finally got to see what she had the potential to do. As a figure though, it's just Civil War Vision all over again (same with Dr Strange).. can't see a justification for her. Undercover Civil War version would be more appealing.

Iron Man - This is the one I actually want more after seeing the movie, it's just a lot of coin to swallow. The nano-tech didn't even seem that silly on screen to me, and I do like having an organic figure to complement the rest

Been trying to stay off these Marvel boards so I visited the DC section. It is rough over there. Movies are crap, nothing good on the horizon, and HT isn’t making much.

Mood is poor at best on those threads.

Without going into spoilers, I saw the movie last night; I have only PO'd Iron Man before the movie (which he was awesome in) and now will definitely PO:

Dr. Strange
War Machine

I might PO these but:
Black Panther (maybe - looks same as the other costume)
Infinity Gauntlet (maybe - for same price, can get Hasbro one but like the smaller size of the Hot Toys one)
Iron Spider (maybe - awesome in the movie but still prefer the classic red and blue costume)
Thor (awesome in the movie but still on fence since prefer the classic look)


Was going to get Hulk Buster but after seeing the movie, not so much so.

Spoiler:

He's War Machine. He has time in the big Wakanda battle scene, and Rhodey has his share of dialogue earlier in the movie as the disbanded team are all starting to get their heads around the gravity of the situation. But he's no Tony Stark or Iron Man.

Different people might get different mileage out of the character, but for me personally I find it a fist down the throat shelling out $700NZ to get my hands on the Iron Man figures. If War Machine follows suit (which he's not going to be less than $350US) I wouldn't want to do it myself. Maybe one day I'll shell out for a MkII because they are still available and more affordable, lol..

definitely more complicated who I’ll get. Originally thought I’d be satisfied with just Thanos and Iron Man, but that feels less realistic now. Thor and Spidey are suddenly much more possible/probable. And the Black Order. And Strange. Oof. All the feelings.
