I ended up just going with a full refund. They did a good job making things right, but this whole situation just left me not wanting it. I am happy for those who are happy though!

Oversized or not he’s way bigger than in the movie compared to Dutch.

When I look at mine in person the mask doesn’t really look as oversized and again I think it’s huge to Dutch because the statues are not in scale together. It’s close but not right.

I was also thinking maybe that angle of the top of the mask is why at some angels it looks huge and it is not so bad in person.

100% agree, the pred maq's are bigger than 1/4 scale.
I own the pred 2 maq and I display him with 1/3 scale pieces.

The Pred 1 Maq next to the Dutch pf is no different to putting a 1/4 scale pf next to a 1/3 scale prime 1 statue.

I don't know how you think that the pred is so big in the films?
I understand that you are a pred-man and it is your fav, but come on man be realistic spike.

The maq's are definately closer to 1/3 than 1/4, the photos show this.

As expected - they look great together - and (as predicted) seem to be perfectly in scale.

I'm quite pleased I estimated the side-by-side accurately over a year ago (middle shot)

Spike here is a good photo to show the minimal size difference between the pred and arni in the film.



Dude, can you please provide any photos (stills from the movie) that show a different sized predator which is larger and would accurately match the size of the maq to back up your statement above?

But in fact, Looks like Arnie is standing on the box in this picture or something. Arnie is 6'2" and KPH with Predator suit is around 7'8" - 8". That's nearly 2' difference.

So... given the scale, it's pretty close to 1/4 IMHO (or 1/3.8). The new maquette looks like 1/3.5 given that it leans forward a little it made his head look tad too big.

please look at the size / scale of the preds head, hands, arms, etc..... then compare to the maq.
(it has nothing to do with the pred lifting arni up).

That is good that SSC made it right.. Unfortunate that they got this wrong in the first place.. I would have done the same thing if I had that issue with the Masked head. Even though I was never interested in displaying it with the unmasked head it was still a let down that it had a similar issue to yours so I can imagine how you felt.

Obviously there will be more Predators in the future to look forward to.

I've mentioned earlier the bio on this is awful and not accurate, and the proportions of both heads seem to have been decided by the closed mandible look hence the heads appear bobbleish.
KPH was a giant of a man, the movie probably takes liberties by exaggerating the size difference with use of perspective such as the scene Arnie is pinned to the tree. I have a friend who is 4'10 and I'm 6'2 and the comparison is similar lol.
Give or take the original predator suited up was around 7'5 which at 1:4 scale is 22.25".
I don't have this maquette yet, but the SWS version is spot on 1:4 and it dwarfs the Arnie PF aswell mainly because of the disparity in the body mass. The Arnie PF isn't helped by his pose. If he was standing upright he'd be close to the Predator's collar bone, which is about right.

Yeah, it stinks both the Dutch and ROTJ Luke PF’s came out during Sideshow's obsession making them look like they’re creeping. A Dutch with one foot up heroic pose would’ve been nice.

I'm hoping that one of the new companies with the licence put out a nice diorama piece . . . OR statues that pair up nicely.

Having said that, I still like the way these 2 display together - per JAWS's pics.

Dude, I agree 100%, hopefully one of the new companies can do it.
It is going to be a welcome change to see multiple pred pieces available from different companies.

Prime 1, XM Studios, Cool Props, SSC, and the couple of new companies as well.
(soon people may be complaining that the market is flooded by preds, haha).

Agreed that in the stills it close but looking at it as a whole the mass and slight but close heaight difference makes the statue look out of scale to me.

While it may be slight my eyes just see it differently. It’s not that important but I just think it’s too big compared to the Dutch.

So, SS Returns Manager actually called me today and went out of his way to apologize and smooth things over with how I was handled. It was for sure refreshing to see them make an effort on their part. Again, this was really the only bad experience I had with them. I think I may still end up just getting a refund, but I told him I'd need some time to think about things.

Only because you did a YouTube video about it lol. Would he have seriously called otherwise? Maybe that rep wants sacking also
