Well, couldn't hold out any longer and placed an order for Maul. Such a great looking piece..

Congrats, this is a great piece. The pose, head sculpt and paint apps are top notch.

hmm I'm tempted to make this my first PF purchase. I've never really been a fan of mixed media clothing though, the small 1/6 figures almost look like dolls, but in the pics at least I don't get that feeling from Darth Maul.

PF's don't look like dolls. Dolls look like dolls, which is what 1/6 figures essentially are.

This PF has an incredible presence despite having very little going on. They absolutely nailed it.

Thanks for the feedback, That's exactly the sort of thing I want to hear. So close to pulling the trigger on Maul...
I actually like the PF Vader as well. Which one would you choose first?

That's really personal, which character do you like the most? Then you can start looking at the pose and overall design for each piece.

Vader is better value for the money I guess with all the light ups + tall base, also the design is just more complex overall. But personally I always have a hard time with Vader statues, they tend to have that very stiff look (just like the character I guess) which is why the only one I own is the Mythos version for now.

Also I know a lot of people aren't really into the pose Sideshow chose for the Vader PF. The pose for Maul is hard to criticize, they captured his attitude perfectly. That + the amazing head sculpt really helps make it a special piece.

That's a good point. The bases on my RMQ statues are fantastic. PF Maul's base is a little underwhelming by comparison and might stick out like a sore thumb. Vader PF looks to have a nice base that should fit right in.
But yeah, PF Maul really has that attitude doesn't he?
I think I'm going to have to buy both.

Almost sold out warning... really tempted to buy this piece but can’t decide if I should wait for Boba PF instead. I can really only get one. So far I have Kylo and will have IS Vader when he ships. Anyone have advice on which to get? So hard to decide! >_<

IMO get both in time, the regs of both should be readily available for a good price in the aftermarket. Only question is which do you get now and then pick up the other down the road.

That's awesome, congrats man.

I said it months before release on another forum and got made fun of: this piece is a future grail. Ridiculously small ES compared to the character's popularity, and a simple but impeccable design (Darth Talon anyone?). We'll see what the price looks like in 2 years.

I use Kylo's EX, looks great depending on how you pair him

Yep. And really he did whip them both, just stupidly let his guard down at a critical moment. And if nothing else maul is a much cooler looking character.

Obi 1 on 1 with him more than held his own, but he let his anger get the better of him...leading to him being pushed down the shaft.

Talking about this makes me wonder, will we ever see episode 1 obi and qui gon PF’s? I certainly hope so!!

your front is the back one and the back one is probably the front
