Unfortunately, I think the development of the internet has led to the downfall of movie marketing quality. In the old days, you didn't have a million cable and streaming chanels and websites to spread word about movies, you had posters up inside and on the outside walls of theaters and relied on people seeing them to catch their attention, even seeing trailers wasn't guaranteed unless you saw another movie, where now you can watch them 1000 times from home on YouTube.
With less need for marketing art to truly sell films, the artwork has gotten more uninspired and cookie cutter, at least the official studio work, places like Mondo still turn out old school looking posters that remind of the good old days.
Hell, even Star Wars has walked away from the classic Drew Struzan type art for Photoshop fest.
For the record we don't all talk like that lol.
As an Aussie, I'm here to tell you they do.
Choice uz bru.
LOL... "yeah, nah... bro.."
But hey, all aussies ride kangaroos to work and eat barbequed shrimp... , or say crikey all the time... or possibly both
Even kiwis trying to take the piss out of "white" New Zealand accents end up sounding like a forced copy of "Lyn of Tawa". And as for Taika, the only time I've ever talked like him is when taking the piss out of a strong Maori accent.
Sounds like this is too much of a comedy for a Thor film
Crikey, struth, you're just taking the piss now mate! BONSER!
For anyone on the fence about this, go watch it. It's a comic book movie, and a good one. Expect that, and you won't be disappointed. Good triumphs over evil, hulk smashes (lots), there's lots of laughs, and without giving away spoilers, there's even a couple of character development surprises. A solid 8.5/10.
Say what now? The first one was a classic fish out of water comedy.
Yeah, the Thor comicswere never 100% serious, they've had the storylines here and there, but Thor was turned into a frog at one point
Spoiler:So apparantly was movie Thor...

Going to see it tonight with my son.
All I'm expecting is a fun ride of a movie, which is what the MCU (usually) excels at.
I need confirmation that this is a comedy -- the "funny" Thor.
Kids will never look at Hulk the same way again.
As Stallone would say: You ain't so bad.
This should be the first review that truly really matters to Wor-Gar lol
It's a comedy and Thor is quite often the butt of all the jokes. strangely it works and is quite enjoyable. While Hela is just another villain of the week type character, Cate Blanchett clearly has fun playing her and it's a joy watching her hamming it up. It generally feels like it was a happy film for everybody and i guess that's what carries it through.
