Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Maybe there should be a Snyderman GB thread. Lol.

Didn't Venkman have a set of folded gloves to place on his belt? I actually still might use those for the Blitzway Venkman.

Yes, he does have it -- finally put some use into the old Mattel piece...

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Meanwhile on planet earth the picture clearly shows that the figure looks pretty much as close to Bill Murray as any 1/6 figure has looked to its source material.

So just to be clear, you are saying this murray effort is among the best 1/6 sculpts that you have ever seen?

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Looks like Rahmier painted one up a few years ago. The sculpt obviously doesn't have the subtle detail or skin texture, and the hair isn't the best, but it still feels a whole lot more like '84 Bill Murray to me.

Getting more of a Bill Maher than Bill Murray vibe from that one...I'll stick with Blitzway m'self.

Uhm...nope...no better...no worse...like most recent 1/6 offerings...to be clear.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Why do think this critique is coming from a place of anger? The figure looks angry my criticism isn't.

Agreed. I was thinking the eyes reminded me of Edward Norton but I'm definitely feeling the Bill Maher vibe.

How much time and money did you spend on your Mattel Ghostbusters, davejames?

I have my three still in their boxes. Never did get around to getting all the boots and belts, etc.

Oh that's not my figure. I was going to attempt a custom Venkman of my own at one point, but then the BW figs were announced and it obviously didn't seem necessary anymore.

I found it.

Yeah well painted up that one does have a bit of Bill Maher as someone said (maybe the nose.) I thought the open mouth one might have been a little better but it's very scene specific.

It's always the issue with custom heads over production figs - my guess is that people like Rahmier and Silentsurfer would charge $250 or so to paint a head, which is more than the entire BW figure.

It was the problem I faced with Ben Kenobi - the HT was lackluster likeness but the SSC - a much superior sculpt in terms of likeness - would have cost $200 to repaint (the total cost of the HT Ben.)

I honestly wish all this debate was about Ray and Venkman was the perfectly nailed head that Ray is in reality. I am, however, learning to love Ray as much as Venkman.:lol

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Ultimate solution to our problem.
Buy the Ecto-1 when it comes out and put Venkman & Winston in the car. :exactly:
BW Stantz & Egon look great imo. After watching IAT video again.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I wasn’t thrilled with Venkmans likeness in the prototype promo photos and asked JNIX if they had plans for a good Bill Murray head sculpt way back then.

I was also hoping the production head would be tweaked but it looks about the same to me (minus the typical detail loss).

What I am shocked by is how great Ray and Egon look. I wasn’t planning on getting them but now I’m really considering it.

Just saw that post as well. Can’t wait to see the price.

That car is just beautiful. I wish I had the room for it.

Normally I watch John Carpenter's "The Fog" each year for Halloween, but this year I'm breaking tradition; it's definitely going to be GB this year.

To be candid, I think the BW sculpt blows this one away.

They're still showing all that bland, unpainted, cheap plastic junk on the roof...

I watched GB1 last Christmas with the family on Bluray, have to make it GB2 this year. Haven't seen it all the way through in many years.

Does look cheep... They will probably improve it and make it more screen accurate.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1
