Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I can't believe people actually think these look good?
It's 4 crap headsculpts in boiler suits, hardly a hard thing to do-
It's not like it took any engineering skills to hide joints & improve pose ability.
So why are the headsculpts so bad?!
They look shiny, bloated and like they washed up on the beach-just bad
I'm not even mentioning winston as I don't even know where to start with that

I agree 100 percent. I think people are just blinded by the fact that they have been waiting for so long and they just want their figures so they will accept what I view as mediocrity. I can name at least 10 Hot Toys head sculpts that came out this year that look way more accurate. This is just my opinion but I feel like a lot of people on here feel the same way. Winston ' s paint application is an absolute travesty...there is no excuse for that.

You mean without the streams attached or without the neutrino wands actually in their hands? Never mind, no mean with no gloves. Lol.

:lol I guess I was unclear..Actually can you shoot both ways with and without the effects. I wonder why they wore the thick gloves in the first place, In G2 they don’t need them.

I know you aren’t too much of a Customizer and another set would be too expensive but hopefully we see some customs of these like their G2 court suits with these packs

Lmfaooo

Finally noticed it when u said it, that Winston head is tiny.

It's a good thing I always planned on him being in the front facing backward kneeling and throwing the ghost trap for slimmer to show off the proton pack

Winston looks like Beetlejuice from the Howard Stern show to me. Damn that head is small!

I wish I had enough money to buy a second set for that look.

Well that settles it. I'm accepting mediocrity because actsdad74 told me I am.

I can also probably name more than 10 HT sculpts that these look better than.

Notice how I said "I think" and "it's just my opinion"? I am not stating anything as fact or that I am able to read minds. I actually have these on preorder and am a huge fan of the movie so I was really hoping I would like them more. Maybe after some people receive these I will be more accepting. Sorry if people take my opinion as me bashing on these figures. I guess after getting Dr. Strange I got a little spoiled.

Also...lately Hot Toys has been hitting their sculpts out of the park. Between Dr. Strange and the Suicide Squad figures they have been excellent. Maybe my view is a little scewed.

I think some Star Wars HT collectors might disagree with you there. Me being one of them.

I don't own any Star Wars figures so I can't comment on those.

But you can look at pictures of them and judge, just like you're judging these solely by pictures.

Ok...give me a few hours and I will get back to you on that.

HT is good at dropping the ball quite frequently, whether it’s Iron Men that don’t light up, completely changing the HS on you like they did with Jyn, or releasing Wonder Woman to only put up a better version for PO a couple of weeks later, Lol. However....we still buy them. Same goes for Sideshow. And I don’t think anyone here is contesting that Winston’s paint application isn’t off. It is. But like collectors, repaints will happen, or we will mod them to make it look better. I’ve had to do this with countless figures from hot toys and various other companies unfortunately. Anyone that has been in this hobby long enough, knows that nothing will ever be 100%, and mistakes do happen from time to time.

For me, Winston’s paint application is negligible, because a repaint will fix it. The sculpt is good, and many will see that once they have it in hand. Unfortunately the paint app doesn’t help matters.

I will put KA Kim's work against any other sculpt out there...it's also nice to get a sculpt of a character that is not wearing a cape or a mask every once in awhile so even if Hot Toys is producing amazing sculpts their choices of what to sculpt as of late leave plenty to be desired...

My sentiments also. Though I enjoy all three, I'd prefer my collection to consist of more than just Star Wars, DCEU and MCU.

While I wouldn't say any of these sculpts are downright perfect, I'd say at least the Dr. 3 are pretty darn close, while obviously the glaring flaw on Winston is the paint app and arguably the sculpt size, but judging by some screen grabs, the sculpt size actually does look relatively accurate. Actual facial likeness is there though.

While everyone is entitled to their opinion of course, I think to say that all of them turned out horrible is just hyperbolic, and to say that there's at least 10 HT sculpts this year alone that are leaps and bounds better than these, is even more hyperbolic.

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

I have more MCU and Star Wars figures than i care to admit but i could get rid of all of them and still be happy with just these four and Ecto-1

I think they have recent Hot Toys figures beat as far as accessories go. These guys are loaded with goodies and they all look so well painted in your review. The proton packs especially look flawless. Hard to pick a favourite but I think Ray in particular looks to have lost almost nothing from prototype to production.

It's good to know Winston's sculpt is as good as the other three even if the paint app is lacking. Anyone have an idea how much it would cost to get Winston repainted?

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

We should all get a group discount , ship all Winston heads to onesixthkit to have his factory connection repaint them all

Re: Blitzway - 1/6 Scale Ghostbusters - Collectible Figures and ECTO-1

Forgot to ask, I Am Toys, are you able to attach the neutrino wand to the belt at all to achieve this look?

View attachment 371104

Looking at your pictures, that longer carabiner attachment is on the figures' left side, while Egon in that screen shot has it on his right. Is there another one behind the pouch for the walkie talkie, or are you able either to take off or move the longer carabiner attachment to the right side?

Ah man..I didn’t even notice that..nice spotting . I wish you can get the wand to attach to the chain but I think they didn’t do that :slap
