This poor thread has become an extinct EU haven. It must stop.

I always figured that people were only interested in stuff like SOTE because of the drought of new SW movies/material. Even I bought a Xisor, Rendar and Grace Jones pirate Chewbacca because there wasn't a whole lot going on back then. I honestly had no idea people actually liked these types of things even in the context of a flood of new SW movies/material.

In a sense it was like the RO between Empire and Jedi films. The story was great. A new gangster villain and his sexy body guard, tracking Boba Fett, Bounty hunters, slums of Coruscant, a new smuggler, how Leia got her disguise for ROTJ... etc. If I remember correctly they were in the plans of making into a movie but instead went straight to ROTJ. One of my favorite storylines that had pretty much everything and the toys were just a plus back then too.

My prediction: Deathstar Trooper coming Force Friday or at least within a months time after. *shakes dice and throws*

Edit: Also the trooper's helmet needs to be much larger as Worgar once mentioned.

Much of the EU was crap, but there were some good stories there, one of them was SOTE.

Is this shipping in the states? My flex doesn't start until November, but if shipping in the states I'll just one time pay it.

I really hope they make that helmet bigger.... a lot bigger.

Hopefully that's the hold-up.

...king of the mushroom heads.

Hot Toys kept him in the dark and fed us sh.. about releasing him when the time was right.

We'll instead get the head smaller...

Yeah, the more pics I see of this HT DS Trooper, the more that helmet really does look too small, and not "flared" enough.

It's definitely a toy with shallow detail, but the Hasbro helmet (custom fig using Hasbro helmet/outfit below) seemed to have better overall proportions than the HT one as seen so far. Hope this doesn't become the SSC ANH Vader where people were buying Hasbro domes to make their high-end figure look right.:lol

And it never did look right. I never understood the preference for the Hasbro dome. It always looked like exactly what it was - a high end figure with a thick toy helmet.

Nice mash-up and yes the dome needs to larger than the prototype.
What gloves are those?

SSC Praji.

Yeah, it was before my days in 1/6, but even the whole SSC figure in retrospect wasn't great. The chestbox sculpt and belt details seem so soft and the thing was 14" tall. But getting a truly screen accurate Vader out of the box has eluded even HT - their "ANH Vader" in truth looks nothing like Vader in ANH.

Still no excuse to put a $20 toy helmet on it.

Yeah, people seemed to totally dig it back then though.:lol

Seemed like even Hurricane was using a cast of it for a long time but he narrowed the thickness a bit. Though he was also using a modded cast of the SSC DX dome, which had some odd angles.

The death of the Death Star Trooper....?

PT has come to roost.

I'm not convinced that a tidal wave of PT figures are coming soon. Howard talked about doing Anakin way back in the days of DX07. I think even the obvious kenobi figure might get held up until the rumored stand alone movie. If we get any PT reveals before next comic con that signals trouble though.

Then again HT did waste a lot of resources making suicide squad figures...

Why wasted? They are selling and are top class.

Well simply put it was a really bad movie. Not just bad but flaming dumpster fire horrible, memorable only for having a hot actress play harley quinn and the distinction of producing easily the WORST ever rendition of the joker. That is all

Who cares if the movie is good or bad? These are figures. Only thing that should matter is the character and the costume. I bought a couple Avengers figures from Age of Ultron, because the characters were great, even if the movie was not.
