Disagree, I think clev won this trade by a landslide. Basically Irving and Thomas are even swaps. You add Crowder who is a good backup for Lebron who plays good , hard D , which they needed. You then add a top 3 pick next year!? I think this helps bring back Lebron for sure next year, since he can influence who he would want in the draft.

I don't think it's forgone to LA now that the snake is gone from Cle. No way they trade that pick man, not even to appease Lebron if he wanted it.It's still not enough to overthrow a healthy GS, but I can't wait to see them face each other in the ECF

Not a great haul, but serviceable. Thomas is not as explosive offensively as Kyrie, but I think the fact that Thomas is a free agent after this season (IIRC) is big as well, giving the Cavs some flexibility. Jae Crowder gives them another wing player to try and defend KD.

Short term I consider it a wash unless Cle uses the '18 pick in a trade to acquire Melo or Wade. Which I consider a real worry to win now and sacrifice the future.....especially since I don't think either get them over the GSW hump just an attempt to appease James. Least '18 pick should be a good one to start the future after James bolts next year

It’s a wash for this year. Its still Boston – Cleveland in the conference finals, its still Cleveland winning and its still Cleveland losing to Golden State in the finals. This deal does NOT make LeBron stay in Cleveland next year so that allows Boston to take over the #1 spot in the East and Cleveland better pray that Thomas can keep it up.

Lebron could stay if that pick ends up being #1 overall and they trade it for an all star.

The more I read about this the more maybe I am overvaluing Irving. I didn't really pay much attention to him but I thought he was a lot better than what people are saying about him now. HUH. And Yeah if Cleveland can turn that pick into an all star that would be great for them.

yea, but he's a more willing passer, and he's gonna give you 100% all the time. Can't say the same for Kyrie. Some of you aren't factoring in that Lebron will make it even easier for IT to get his. Cavs are pretty deep next year, I wanna see if Lue can make it work.

well we'll see how he does when he doesn't have Lebron to pull the heavy load. Just look at the Cavs record without Lebron in the lineup and that should tell you how much Irving is overvalued. He doesn't make players better, he's a ball stopper and he's a defensive liability.

I don't think there's anyone in the league that is worth the overall #1 that would be available. Obviously, KD, Leonard or even Davis would be great pick ups, but, realistically who could be had for that pick....... unless the draft class is weak?

Why did the Celtics give up so much for kyrie when they had the upper hand?? I mean the whole world knew the Cavs had to dump kyrie, wtf was DA thinking, he got hosed by a rookie gm. He probably could have gotten KI with just the Brooklyn pick and Crowder. If i was DA id start worring about my job security

As I mentioned, I don't think Cavs are done with the wheeling and dealing....I have a feeling their gonna make one last push for another championship meaning 2018 pick may be used to land someone. Heard Bulls may buy out Wade which means he could join the Cavs without loosing the pick but other possibilities remain. We shall see.....

even if they did want to trade the pick, for who though? I just don't think there is anyone that would put Cle over GS this year barring a injury to the big 4 of course

Lol...boston fans are burning Thomas jerserys. He got traded fellas:rotfl

I haven't seen that yet, idiots....

I'd consider trading the pick depending who they got back in return however that list would be small. I'd be more concerned Cle is in win now mode meaning they'd make a deal for short term success versus the future.

I heard on the radio today a proposed scenario with Wade and Cousins winding up in Cle. Naturally things would happen to align to make it happen but the deal had starting 5: IT4, Wade, James, Cousins and Love...with bench being Rose, Smith, Korver and Thompson....could be interesting team but as I mentioned it's short term plan

I don't think NO is in sale mode for Cousins yet, only having half a season with him. If they do trade the pick, I'd think it would be right before the draft. The Cavs have to think about IF Lebron leaves, not if they can make him happy for 1 year. They have a pretty solid roster right now, and they were able to shed a lot of cap space getting rid of Kyrie. If Lebron commits past this year, I could see them trading the pick, but not before then.

By trade deadline if NO isn't in contention, I'd suspect they may be willing to talk.....all speculation of course....

Folks feel however they want but my money is on James leaving. Personally I hope they keep the pick and begin planning ahead. I'm not certain any deal will be enough to beat GS

I think Kyrie leaving could be a blessing in disguise for Cle because he was so ball dominant. Like the first time around lol, I hope Lebron stays. I still hate that KD absolutely killed the competitiveness of the league by going to GS. Imagine how much more wide open it would be if he didn't right now.

Not so fast on the trade.....IT4 hip a concern for the Cavs ???????

Multiple sources around the league stating Lebron is a goner after the season....

Shumpert ask For a trade or not???

Tune in tomorrow for another chapter of "Days of Our Lives" 🙄

That would be funny as hell if that trade was voided.

Everyone in the world knows LeBron is gone next season... no sources needed.

makes me wonder what Bos told Cle about the extent of IT's hip progress. It's been months, and the guy hasn't even started running yet. If Cle docs think he needs surgery, it would make sense why they were so quick to give him up. A Labral tear is no joke and if it does require surgery, he'd been out for the whole year.

I think Cle would settle for one more late first round pick, but we'll see. Seems like a bad idea to void it unless IT requires surgery.

No way this trade gets reversed. Isaiah/Kyrie would hate their old teams. Cavs trying for another #1, but won't get it. Might get something else, but not a #1.
