You gotta be kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought the point of this alternate head sculp was bc the original head was so disappointing. Why would they not make at least as many heads as the original release to give every one a chance to get the alternate head. This makes no sense!!! I'm really disappointed. I want to like Asmus and have bought several of their figures , but words can't explain how disappointed I am. Any ideas??????

What are you talking about?

I believe they were up front with how many they made when they put it up for preorder. Plus they never promised they would be selling a replacement sculpt so those that bought the original release when it first came out did not base their decision on the idea of being able to buy a replacement sculpt later. They probably guessed at how many they thought they would be able to sell and made the production run on that. Looks like they underestimated or some third parties might have bought a bunch to sell on eBay. I cannot think of a similar situation to compare it to. Maybe if there is enough interest they could do another run? I believe the slim is still for sale some places so they could put a preorder in for it and sell the original.

Also in my opinion the original is a good sculpt. The hair piece just needs work.

I think it's pretty obvious that everyone that bought this would want the updated head

I think that's very far from the case. Sure some people didn't like the original, I was one of them, but I took the chance to get the new one when it went up.
Some people were and still are happy with it. The fact that Asmus went to the trouble of updating it for the fussy b@$¥@}>$ like me and others here is a great thing that you very rarely see from any other 1/6 company. If they had made the same number of heads as the original release they would *never* sell them all. Some are happy, some would never have known about the new one, some of the original figures will have been parted out by sites like TA or on eBay etc etc.

Sorry you missed it but that's not Asmus' fault. The heads were available for a while, and the slim figure still is.

:clap:goodpost:

Also keep in mind that Asmus stated that the new head sculpts were difficult to make and would not be done by the factory but by artisans, if not mistaken. Thus there would be a limited number sculpts made for both the "Slim" figure version and as an optional replacement head sculpt.

I thought all of the slim figures came with the new head.

I see what you mean, but haven't met anyone that likes the old head. That being said, I'm just trying to figure out how I can get one. I'd gladly pay more for it, if I could find one. Can't even find one on EBay. Any ideas?

Not really I'm afraid. They haven't shipped out yet so nobody has had chance to change their minds! Maybe once they do you'll find someone selling them (here or eBay). Or you could buy the slim version and then sell on what you don't need (put the sculpted hair head on it as sell as a whole figure). You might not break even but will make some back at least?
Edit: And yes I am pretty sure the Slim version figures all have the rooted head.
