I just got my RO hands for my ANH figure..and am having quite the time getting these gloves to fit without bunching up the sleeves. I used a small dental rubber band to try and keep the sleeve in place, but not working. Does anyone please have any suggestions on what I can do?

Mine sit fine but i'm not using the pegs. I just carefully rotated them back and forth until they were snug in the pose i wanted them in... no bunching up.
Haven't fallen off in the 5 months i've had them.

Thanks. I was ever so slightly twisting them on and had to use a tiny flat head to try and push the sleeve in the glove (on the left gripping hand). But I had no problem putting the fight pointing hand on. Yep, I think that's what I'll have to do - leave the pegs off.

I have those hands my self there great. I`m working on a ESB/ROTJ Darth vader using parts from RO to SS and kaiyodo
I just looked up the Kaiyodo Vader (I didn't have a clue what that was). So I'm curious what parts of a 17cm figure your using on a 1/6 scale figure?

For me, everything is the Hot Toys ANH Vader except for the RO chest box, belt/boxes, gloves & the Sideshow Deluxe Vader cod piece. I think using that smaller cod piece really makes the figure look less stumpy....plus it's more accurate to boot (except for maybe that line going around the bottom of it). Now, the only thing I'd change is that gun metal colored circle on the buckle.

The kaiyodo he's referring to is a 1/6 model kit from the 90's. There is a recent 6" scale figure from kaiyodo revoltech. Here's what the kaiyodo mask with mods looks like with ht rogue one, ANH, and sideshow deluxe parts

yep I`m thinking on using the RO inner tunic as I think it would look better then the ss dlx inner tunic yours turned out great try to take a photo of mine tomorrow. but my recipe is the following.
1 the RO vader body I like the articulation on it. it`s not as stiff as the ANH body is.
2 RO body suit to me it does not seem as thick as the ANH is
3 RO boots. I`m undecided between these or ANH ones
4 the chest box and belt of course is from the dlx vader ssc.
5 kaiyodo mask, chest plate done by hurricane it has a nice crisp paint job.
6 I went with the HT ANH cape as it drapes better and lot of the members on here liked it better then the RO cape.
7 I went with the HT ANH cod piece I think the ss one looks to small and out of place.

That's a tough one with the boots. The shin guards on the RO version don't sit flush at all against the boots. The ANH ones don't, however the paint job isn't high gloss for an accurate ESB/ROTJ version. I'd say your best off buying the ANH ones and give them a glossy paint job..unless there's a mod to get those shin guards to sit up against the boots.

I had o problems with my RO hands on the ANH Vader :/

I thought about using the shin guards off the kaiyodo model kit they have a great shine to them.

were they yellow like that to in empire as well. I`m thinking about cutting the eyes out of my kaiyodo mask as I have a bunch of those old film cell pieces that we all used for the tamishii 3po.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Hi,

I am new here. I have a question about my ANH Vader. Maybe the question was already answered somewhere in this thread but I hope you understand that I don't wish to search through the 1000s of posts that this thread has generated and still going.

I would like to display my ANH Vader with the light saber and belt boxes lighted on. I also have a complementary ANH Obi-Wan that I would like the lightsaber lighted on.

Is it wise to leave them lighted on 24/7? Will it eventually damage the figures? When the light bulbs eventually go out if I leave them on 24/7, will I be able to replace them with newer light bulbs? Would it be hard to replace them with newer light bulbs?

Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

You mean like with the stock batteries? If so you're getting probably an hour tops on each set of batteries.

That is disappointing. I don't feel like changing batteries every hour. That's for sure. What is the point of having the lightup feature if it cannot be displayed 24/7?

I guess I don't have to worry about the light bulbs burning out since I won't be displaying them 24/7.

You could run some discrete wires to the terminals of the battery boxes, then down out the back of the figure and setup an external battery, or USB plug for example. As long as you give it the right resistance, you could power the lights of your entire figure using something as simple as a USB plug or rechargeable battery pack

You could wire them if you're capable. Or buy a wired cathode lightsaber. Pixelpiper used to do unified lighting rigs for the deluxe SS Vader, where the stand, belt and chest box, and custom cathode saber would all be on one power source.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

also... there is something that uses "dummy batteries" which you insert into the battery holder, it replaces the actually battery and is preconfigured with a wire to power to a wall for example: https://www.amazon.com/Complete-Ada...rd_wg=gIMWm&psc=1&refRID=VHENGDDN8ZGJQS3QSMAP

Maybe with a little digging you can find one that uses the same system for small coin batteries like the ones in vader. Personally I would just run some wires though and create my own.

yeah that dude too. I didn't know he did that whole set. Pretty sweet.

Our of interest, what other battery powered lights do you know of that last 24/7?

Yeah I'm curious as well lol..

Regarding the bulbs, I believe Hot Toys uses LED's which may have an hour rating for how long they are meant to last although again they aren't intended for continuous use. If you did burn out a bulb it'd likely be easier to just get a new led arm.

Yeah it looks like the ROTJ vader is still in it's early stages and just a prototype...but the mask looks to be a two-piece for the reveal.. View attachment 352810

I would say for certain Hot Toys will do the ROTJ & ESB Vader which are mostly the same, ESB Gloves a bit shorter than the ROTJ which are like large oven mits but everything else is essentially the same.

Hot toys will do it for sure because they already have the mould and suit and **** ready to go they just need to add the chest box which lights up and if they were lazy they could flog off sideshow ROTJ remaining stock of the chest boxes. the proto looks like a kitbashed Rogue one somewhat
