How do you know what license they have gotten? It's not what you say, it's how you say it.

I'm happy for those who are interested in this and are buying it, and also happy that Blitzway is taking on these classic cinema licences that no one else is doing even if it's not something I want, but I also find it annoying that people assume just because someone isn't interested in this piece that automatically means they want a superhero statue.

I personally could not give a crap about comic statues as I only buy movie pieces, preferably from old and iconic films as well, but I just have no interest in owning an expensive statue from Basic Instinct. Its a very nice piece indeed, there's just other more iconic characters from more iconic movies that I think would've been a better choice as their next piece.

Congrats to those who are ordering though, it does look like a very classy piece. I did notice in the description Blitzway mentioned a new painting technique to make the headsculpt look more realistic. I wonder what that is.

It just seems to me that those saying things like no one will by this or worst licence ever have Batman avatars or Joker sigs. Those comments are very close minded. I personally have no interest in old actors from what may be considered classic films but still recognise there are others that do and wouldn't start cutting it up or saying they should have made this or that based on my opinion alone.

Fair enough. I didn't pay attention to anyone's sigs, so I have no idea if they are comic collectors or not. For what it's worth, I'm a movie collector, but I also think this is a pretty poor licence. I understand not everyone will share this view, but end of the day this is a forum and people will express their opinions whether they like it or not. Naturally, people will also express their disappointment if they are anticipating Blitzway's next licence and it turns out to be something they have no interest in.

The statue itself is nice, but as ali mentioned, the movie just doesn't have the cult following that some licences do, and considering Blitzway only release a couple of pieces a year, I think it would've been nice to see them do something more iconic. People probably wouldn't be as disappointed if Blitzway released statues as often as Sideshow, as they'd just wait for the next piece.

I still hope it sells well, and I hope they do announce another statue licence this year.

They could have gone a lot of other directions that dont include star wars or superheroes. It's just that this doesnt really have the cult or geek following like many other things that they could have done. I would have grabbed a 1/6 blues brothers in a heartbeat. Elliot and ET on the bike is an iconic image. A good Jaws statue.

Totally agree with you. It is is what it is though, and I hope it's done well and sells. It is a pretty niche licence, but I think it should still do ok. Sexy female statues are always popular, lol.

Sorry it just seemed that these two post one after the other (and yes I know you were only one of the two) were spewing some vitriol. You did say that "you" were disappointed. You are certainly entitled to your opinion.

I reacted to the negativity of just instantly dismissing the hard work that was put into this by artist, whom I am sure are extremely proud of it, just because it wasn't something that you wanted made.

I gotta admit, after waiting for so long for blitzway to reveal their next statue with anticipation, I'm incredibly disappointed with this announcement.

It's a really nice statue and the likeness is spot on, but I could think of plenty of other old school films that would've made better statues. I would have loved a Michael Corleone on chair from Godfather Part 2.

Stunned for two reasons.

1. Why THIS movie? Such a head scratcher.

2. I really thought they would do an Audrey Hepburn next. Disappointed that wasn't the case.

What do you mean? I don't understand what you're trying to say.

The movie's got a great atmosphere and a tense foreboding throughout. Pretty decent thriller in my books, but like most thrillers they lose their edge after the first watch so they get put aside quickly.

Nice work from Blitzway on this one, saying a company "wastes" time or a licence makes me chuckle every time. Wasting time, or a licence is when you don't make anything.

I am surprised as well. I have seen that powerful women roles unless with a costume : people don't care. It's very unfortunate!
To me this was a very powerful movie / great acting and she was probably even higher rated for me that a Tyler or Patrick Bateman. The movie was ahead of times and was a great watch. Plus she is a very stunning display.
In fact less the merrier. Will get a good limited edition :)

Why couldn't they do it 1/6. I'd buy one just to make the head into Ginger so I can complete the Casino trio. It looks great.

All good man, I understand, but I don't think there was anything wrong or hateful with these comments you quoted personally. I didn't crap on the statue, in fact I said it was actually quite nice and really well done, but the fact is that it's quite a niche licence and not something I would personally want an expensive collectable of.

Anyway, this literally happens in every product thread when something gets announced that people don't like. I actually think these comments are pretty fair and not disrespectful at all. Try popping into the Predator Maquette thread, where there is endless pages of people absolutely crapping on the statue because it was not done with 100% accuracy down to the finest detail, and the same people constantly repeating themselves. Now those are hateful comments.

Agree 100%

Oh I have no problem with comments to the effect of it's nice just not for me. Comments like nobody will buy this, etc. do get under my skin. They figure because they don't want it nobody else in the whole world would either which is preposterous. I was hoping for it 1/6 but if it's going to look like the proto I might just have to bite the bullet and get it. It does look fantastic.

Personally / the fact that this will be the rare Sharon stone statue from a very ahead of the times movie / I am very excited for it. In fact I would rather have them go low on edition size but still deliver a quality figure. Likeness is spot on / I am hoping so is the final product paint app etc.
this to me is a very beautiful release. I am tired of the same old ver1, ver 2, ver 3 releases of same old licenses over and over.
I am more excited on this than Tyler cause that was also done in the past.

Finally / mix media on statue is something I love! I do avoid statues that don't have any mix media. So with the fabric outfit etc it's a no brainer buy for me!

Beautiful statue indeed! I've preordered it! I need to have her. She will be my first non predator collection and first Blitzway product. High expectations for this lady...

Their next release from Basic Instinct should be Michael Douglas on the dance floor. I wouldn't buy it but I'd certainly download the pics of it for my amusement.

I have the Blitzway Marilyn Monroe as well as the amazing Blitzway Rocky II but had no interest in this one until I saw the final prototype pictures. I decided to preorder this one as well and have until February of 2018, when it gets released to decide whether or not to keep it. I have to admit that I agree with some others that mentioned that a slightly different pose would have been better but if this turns out anything like Marilyn Monroe or Rocky, it is going to look absolutely amazing in anyone's theatre room. ;)

Yeah that's fair enough man. People tend to do that on here and I agree, it is annoying. To be honest I do think a niche licence like this would have suited 1/6 better, but I guess the exposed joints would have made it look crap.

Has anyone said anything about the pose - real question, as I don't remember seeing anything other than beaver jokes about it and don't feel like re-reading the thread again. I ask because I think the pose is pure perfection as it is, really naturalistic.

The movie wasn't any good. That's the strange thing about this. Does anyone even own the dvd? LOL

Yup.

Its a trashy sex thriller cult film, pure Verhoeven, i like it, but im buying this for the character moreso than the movie.

I re-watched it last night after over 20 years because of this piece and I really dug it. That scene in particular, which happens early on, is particularly powerful. Stone killed it there with her overall performance.
