Re: 1/6 Wampa- WIP (Wampa in Progress): Paint & Hair!!!

Thanks Chakaman :rock :rock

Damn Joseph had to come take another look. If this had turned out 1/2 as good it would still be badass and really to think your still not done and more tweaks to come just makes me........:thud:

Now I'm really looking forward to the final figure.

Yeah, I think the final is going to be pretty sweet... I still need to get the hands haired up and of course attached to the body. And then I think hitting the hair with some dilluted paint and glue to help the hair look more matted will help improve the appearance and stabilize the loosely glued pieces of hair on the head.

And this is my hand sewn prototype fur suit which is kind of hinky; the final suit should be a bit better fitting overall.

Re: 1/6 Wampa- WIP (Wampa in Progress): Paint & Hair!!!

Sadly this will be a one-and-done run... it's a lot of work and I have a feeling after it's done I'll never want to see white faux fur again :lol

Casts of the parts may be available again at some point if there is a demand and I'll be sharing the process of how to make one for those going the DIY route.

Re: 1/6 Wampa- First Casts Pulled!

Just out of curiosity... does anyone know which arm the Wampa originally looses in ESB?

For the SE it's the right... and at the shoulder. But in watching the original, and looking at the severed arm that is shown hitting the cave floor it looks more like it'd be the left and of course it's cut off closer to the elbow.

Anyway, I'm guessing it's either in a novelization or someone can see the image better than me.

I always thought Luke got 'em at the elbow but it looks like he took the whole arm Robocop style. Or maybe the special edition got it wrong.

I definitely think the SE got the amount of arm wrong, heck even the way he swings across his body would seem unlikely to do that kind of damage. The SE Wampa does have shorter arms, so maybe that's what they were going for :lol

Exceptional work! Bravo! Just wish I could have afforded to get one...

Re: 1/6 Wampa- WIP (Wampa in Progress): Now w/Claws!!!

Thanks guys!

Got fur added the hands and feet yesterday, and I trimmed the forearms back a bit. I think this is a great overall length and helps give him a more simian appearance; short legs, long forearms and larger head. The figure still needs to have some weathering done and that will help take him up another notch or so.

Thanks again for all the support; this figure would not have been possible w/o you guys :duff

And not a great pose; but this is the Wampa's height (next to Han) when standing straight up

Holy **** jman that is money!!!!
If you ever offer a diy kit again I may get back into customizing just to make one.....:lol
Just excellent dude. Awesome work all around.

Total Awesomeness Galacticboy!:rock That is by far the best representation of the Wampa that I've ever seen. If SS ever decides to make one, they should definitely have you show them how it's done.

OMG that is insanely good! If you do more kits I'd be down for one haha that looks so great

Thanks, I hoped for a long time that Sideshow might offer a Wampa... it's about the same height as a Tauntaun, so it'd be possible. However; I'm about 99% sure it would be a statue since they don't really "do" fur and with the passage of time that kind of large piece (especially w/o it being one that a figure can ride on) seems pretty unlikely.
