Does anyone have the lightup darth vader arm that they don't want / aren't using? Would like to sell it to me cheaper than what they're going for on ebay?

I'm just looking for the arm, don't need the blade, bonus if you want to include it tho :)

Please let me know! Thanks

Hi everybody.
I am new with this figure, want to fix errors and accurate the damn bugger as much as I can, but I am overwhelmed with the loads of data on this thread and the thread for the other, newer HT Vader.

I see you have made a kitbash Vader with what I guess must be the best part you've found. Could explain each choice, and what problems you fixed with your choices?
Why have you switched the RO suit, robe and cape for the ANH ones? What's wrong with the cod piece?
Incidentally, you have used parts from an older Sideshow Vader? There are several. Which one have you used? Which one is "version 2"?

I have learnt that there seem to be problems with the shin guard and nose plug (what's that??), but I can't go through the hundreds of pages of posts.... It's way too much... :-(
What are these problems? Has anybody pictures showing what the problems look like? Are there fixes for them?

Thanks everybody,
m.

HI , yeah this has been kitbashed .

Firstly , i was lucky to have had a spare Hot Toys ANH suit , Robes and Cape. It was an expense worthwhile and it can also fit the sideshow vader too .

I got a hot toys rogue one vader and just wasnt happy with it. The shoulder armour on it is a weird shape and just way too bright and shiny.I used some gun metal paint and weathered it a bit to match ANH. I replaced the RO suit because its too rubbery and didnt have that wrinkled look like the ANH one does. The RO COD Is way too large , and the RO Cape is way too short and RO inner Robes are just not accurate to ANH. I used the RO Body for height , the RO Helmet but semi glossed it and the chin and neck section of the mask repainted to correct gun metal colour. I also repainte dthe chest buttons dark grey like they should have been . I used the spare shin guards from a sideshow vader and placed them onto the RO Boots. ( these will be replaced with ANH Boots and shins eventually). The RO Gloves are the best vader gloves because they are sculpted . The ANH Gloves on the first release are terrible. I used the Sideshow ROTJ COD Piece because its stronger and the correct size.

Essentially you need the best of all three worlds unfortuntaley to make the best Vader, however , if I had the choice again I would buy the new hope version because its better value for money then all you need is the RO Gloves a tiny bit of mods on the belt and you are set.

That last sentence is the truth. I love my ANH with rogue one gloves!

At this point I'm about ready to sell my Sideshow Deluxe, Hot Toys RO and all the various bits I've accumulated from other versions and wait it out for an ESB / RotJ version and deal with its shortcomings.

:gah:

You say the RO cape is way too short.

zackg_ says the RO cape is way too long.

Who is right and who is wrong????

I look at Michael Crawford's reviews of RO and ANH and both have wrinkles on the suits.... WTF?
And regarding zackg_'s statement in another thread that the shoulder armor is more flush in ANH, in MC's review the look the same.
You say Sideshow's cod piece is the best. I have actually got pictures of both HT and Sideshow's ROTJ and the latter is terrible (you can see it is just a plate of plastic glued to a pleather belt instead of being monolithic and reaching under the robe). You say it is stronger but I don't mind its strength if it looks toysh...

I am going mad with this.... I want to buy the best parts, but I need consistency in the observations....... And I just can't buy both figures.

Why change when you couldn't even tell whether the original accurate or not?

The recipe that the vast majority of enthusiasts are going with that requires the fewest amount of part-out purchases - but quite a bit of work with painting and sanding - is the HT ANH Vader with JazzInc's mods applied. The only thing that might bother you and that you'll then want to replace after all that will be the gloves. Until someone bootlegs these, they'll always be hard to get for a reasonable price.

You will be happy with this Vader. And if you're not, then you'll be part of an elite club where buying just one Vader figure isn't enough.

Hot toys figures aren't machine made. There's always small variations in figures i.e. the cowl tip on BVS batman. I also stated mine was too long off the stand. On the stand the cape doesn't touch the floor. Both suits will have wrinkles, but the rogue one is better tailored.

The sideshow cod piece is much better. I'm not sure what you mean about the plastic showing but on the figure the side straps which are a different texture will be hidden by the tunic.

There is 100% a difference in the sternum area of the shoulder armor

My recommendation for the best ANH/ rogue one Vader are:

Helmet: ANH
Shoulder: ANH
Chest: ANH
Belt: RO
Cod: Sideshow Deluxe or ANH
Boots/ shin: ANH
Cape/tunic: ANH
Gloves: Rogue one / ANH depending on the pose
Saber: ANH
Body: toss up
Body suit: rogue one

You'll then need to perform the jazz inc mods to improve the accuracy.

This is what you'll get
