NECA: Alien Movie Franchise Figures

Got myself the newest release of the Alien Queen today. Sumbitch is bigger than my cat!! Any tips to getting the six fins in? The ball joints on all but one dont want to fully pop in.

I've always had good luck with using a hair dryer to warm up one end then pop in place when the plastic is more pliable.

Has anybody else noticed the Neca section shrinking at your local TRU? I hit 2 today and the Neca section was on an end cap by the pops and it was a half of an end cap - not even a full end cap!

Yeah the biggest end cap at my TRUs are Funko POPs

So the Queen re-release is identical to the first one? From what I can tell, even the box art is the same. Also, yes the fin ball joints are a pain...

Bout time they upgraded their site. The old site looked like and had the functionality of a website you used to see in the early 2000's.

Your forgeting the brand new highly anticipated 35th anniversary sticker on it!

Can't forget that - totally seals the deal.

...But yeah seriously I swear neca said that it would atleast have new anniversary packaging - didn't realise a sticker could do that job.

I know it's not 100% necessary but seems like a missed opportunity.

This is nice, I hope they're open about doing more Big Chap too.

They'll be re-releasing Big Chap, presumably with the upgraded articulation at the very least, but not until 2019 for the 40th anniv. of ALIEN.

Between now and then, we've got:
2017 releases:
Waves 11 (mixed), 12 (ALIENS), and maybe 13 (Kenner), + special releases like 2 packs, dioramas, and exclusives.
2018 releases:
Waves 13 (if not released in '17), 14 (slated to be Resurrection), 15 (recently hinted to contain AvP:R xeno, so will likely also have the predalien, leaving an empty slot for ?), 16 (Kenner), + special releases

As we've seen with ALIENS 30th anniversary, releases haven't been contained exclusively to the anniversary year, so who knows - maybe the Big Chap could sneak its way into the lineup earlier, but I'm not expecting to see a 'new' version until wave 17 in 2019... which could be a good thing if it gives NECA time to give it more than just new articulation. I'd love to see that figure's stupid horse grin replaced by a more sinister expression - hell, maybe they'd even be thoughtful enough to give it an alternate close-mouthed head like they've done with the neomorph.
