and this is an old prop, bad picture from an old VHS footage. The true colors was not this anyway...

I'm not sure about that...if you watch the making of it, it seems that's the way it was painted. The dome itself had tans and browns in it, but it was nothing like the full orange, tans and browns of the prop replica. Set lighting most likely made it appear to look more brown than it actually was.

The Alien in Alien 3 was never this "orange".Brown/black/grey was the right color.
The Orange came only from the set-lights...from the liquid metal.

Exactly. Paint is WAY off...especially for a "prop replica".

Can't comment on "screen accurate colouration", but I like the way CoolProps have it painted.

The CoolProps colours have also been used for all the Garage kits, prepaints and action figures I can remember seeing.

To be honest I'm not bothered by the interpretive colour scheme at all. I wouldn't be as interested in a straight grey/black head. Even the Sano has the same kind of colour scheme.

That' looks pretty nice to me. If you watch the making of documentary in the Anthology collection the head was a lot lighter then people are making it out to be. Towards the end of it you can see there was indeed a bit of brown and the body especially was pretty light colored. Those shots posted are in a really dark environment with bright lights and its hard to see it. They have the camera stopped for the bright lights so everything in shadows is dark. Even so Ripleys face is still way overexposed. Look at the doc when they are making it for a better representation of how the prop looks. Not to say this prop has a perfect paint job, just not quite as bad as some say.

Well, looks like I missed out on this piece

All because there wasn't enough info as to the detail of the production piece.

Kinda fed up.

Guess I'll cancel some things and go for the big chap.
