"Sorry that you have an issue with your QMx Star Trek: The Next Generation Captain Picard 1:6 scale collectible figure.
It does appear that the plastic wrap put in place around the neck of the figure was not sufficient to protect the PVC of the head from absorbing a bit of the dye from the tunic. We are investigating the cause of this and will respond with a proposed fix as soon as possible.

I eagerly await their response. It'll make or break a cancellation from me.
It's a shame that this wasn't caught before being shipped out.
My guess is that QMX will offer either a replacement head sculpt or a discount on their next figure as compensation. It would be great if they are able to provide a method to removing the stains.

Too bad about the staining issue. I'll have to see what it looks like in hand. The Bruce Lee knockoff body, while ripped, does seem to be a good size match for Picard's build. Hopefully the head is not too big. I was planning on padding the shoulders because that would look more accurate to the show but apparently there isn't much give in that area. I would have preferred neckless for these. While it's nice to have a seamless transition the articulation is worth it IMO, especially when you are posing these together. Neckless tends to give figures a stiff appearance. That said I remember when GG showed a prototype Picard years ago, that never materialized, and looked nowhere near as nice as this one. Even if it takes a little work in the secondary to get them perfect I'm just thrilled that QMx is finally delivering Star Trek lines. I just hope they continue with DS9 and VOY.

Someone mentioned SS might not ship till mid june? With a potential announcement on a fix coming I can give this another week or two. If the fix isn't that great I'll have to drop the figure before it ships. I don't want to compound what this will cost me shipping wise on top of the ndr etc.

Nothing past them saying they're looking into it. This has bound to be a crapstorm for them. So far, only one person has gotten one that wasn't stained and that was because the head popped off in the package.
At the price that they charge, and given the simplicity of the figure (the only real essentials to get right are around the sculpt and onesie outfit), this is something customers should rightly expect QMx to figure out. I hope they do.

Yep, from the days of kids "decorating" figures with pens to high end collectibles getting stained by dyes... it is not a issue you can fix. That ink is deep in the plastic.
And I imagine this could continue to to be an issue even if you got a new head, you'd need a new tunic that didn't stain the body.

Something just occurred to me today. There was absolutely no mention of staining in Michael Crawford's review. So either there are ones out there without this problem, or (and this is where it goes a bit tin foil hat) his review figure was cherry picked. But that would mean prior knowledge of the problem, which seems unlikely (hopefully)

Well, we sort of established the possibility that there was prior knowledge. The plastic that was placed around the neck wasn't stained but the neck itself was. Either the plastic was placed on the necks after the staining occurred or the plastic was magically unaffected.
